I disagree somewhat. The team played materially differently in style under Patricia and Flores, with consequences going into personnel. As each moved on into HC positions, watching both the Patricia Lions and the Flores Dolphins reminded you of their respective stamps as Patriots HC. Flores hyperaggressive, Patricia ultraconservative. I don't think the Philly Super Bowl happens under Flores' watch, and I don't think the Rams Super Bowl happens under Patricia's watch.I think people really overrate how much DC matters here. I think Flores is a damn good coach, but we can get by with anybody calling the plays with BB overlooking.
The personnel and game plan is BBs. Calling the game and making adjustments is DC which Bill approves/overrules as he sees fit.I disagree somewhat. 2018Keep forgetting BFlo was never DC for the Pats - just the linebackers coach (who yada yada called plays de facto yada yada). I didn't really pay close attention then but when did he really take over the reins behind the scenes defensively?
Coughlin. How many coaches, ever, have beat Bill three times in a row?

If Flores changed his chosen OC every year because a player ( esp his mediocre qb) complained then he doesn’t deserve to be a HC.I wonder how much of the offensive staff turnover was someone like Tua complaining, that brought a culture that Flores himself was trying to establish, but because they're lower on the totem pole, and because they obviously want Tua to look good, they pressured Flores.
God, it really is that easy to be a sports journalist and completely fabricate an otherwise believable angle. And they still can't even really do that all that well. Well, I digress.
Let's just say I'm very happy Flores isn't in the East any more. He seems to be the only coach who had Bill's number continuously. Many former coaches win their first against Bill, and never again.

I know that is the rumors, but with guys like the GM Grier and the owner Ross, it is hard to say what the truth is. Wasn't Ross the guy that was so hot to trot to get Watson just a little while back, and the deal (which would have been done by Grier and Ross) was held up because Watson didn't settle? The idea that bad-guy Flores didn't like their current QB and Grier and Ross were heroically defending him (all the time while flirting with Watson) seems a little suspicious to me. Ross and Grier would want to advance the narrative that they are committed to Tua even if they were just wanting him to maintain value for a later Watson trade. And Flores doesn't seem like the type to leak to the press, if he was better at working the press and his owner it would be Grier instead of him on the way out.I think Flores didn't like Tua and the owner does

The rumors are probably being leaked by Grier and Ross (Flores doesn't seem like that type), and who can trust them, Grier is clearly an expert at corporate infighting. What evidence do we hear that Tua was complaining? Maybe so but he certainly wasn't that type at Alabama, and I haven't heard any indication that he complained about Flores, maybe others have.I wonder how much of the offensive staff turnover was someone like Tua complaining, that brought a culture that Flores himself was trying to establish, but because they're lower on the totem pole, and because they obviously want Tua to look good, they pressured Flores.
