First Meaningless 2025 Mock

Any draft that has the Patriots taking Campbell or Membou at 4, is a mistake. I wholeheartedly agree with Captain Stone’s approach. Trade out if at all possible.

Two or three years from now when Campbell’s a guard or a middling tackle—same with Membou— you’ll see the truth in this.

LT1 will clearly establish itself: Josh Simmons.

Will do

I do get the concern about Stewart, I really do, which is why I went off the idea of drafting him so early. But in the backend of the first? That's much easier for me to get comfortable with.
I hear you. I think he's really a luxury to trade up and get, when they still have so many holes. If he fell to them at #38, yup, snap him up. I'd rather go up and get that Emmanwori whatever his name is... the tall safety. Of I'd go back up and get Egbuka. I just ran a mock and got both Emmanawori and Egbuka after trading back twice and adding early R2 picks.

The mocks are weird this morning. I had one where Campbell and Membou both went in the top 3, Carter and Hunter both fell out of the top 10. Then the scenario above that I mentioned. Made no sense, so I didn't finish them.

The Dominique Easley experience scares me too much as regards Simmons. Campbell or Membou may, or may not, be mere middling guards or tackles, but Simmons might never play in the NFL. Knee injuries scare me.

I remember Bruce Armstrong having his knee gruesomely damaged Came back to play at a high level for several more seasons with thirty year old orthopedic medicine.

This is my "someone on the roster is getting cut" mock. Traded down with Atlanta, got some nice capital next year. Tet and Tyleik were BPA, Conerly my only tackle leaves me thin. Mukuba fixes the safety position, kind of. Restrepo and Tet means that Baker is out, maybe one other guy in that room as well. Reached for Majors, hoped that Sawyer would be there at 171. Banked on the meeting with Majors went well, now I have depth at IOL with him and everyone's binkie Lampkin, so there's two more IOL on the current roster getting called to coach's office. McCord just to piss off all the folks mad that they dealt Milton. It was either him or the K from Miami, but I am betting they can get him as UDFA.

I've missed out on Ozzy on the last couple drafts, so that to me means OT is getting over drafted in SIMs now.

Or the sims are catching up to reality.

I like this a lot. Josh Conerly is a legit LT. Polynesian Tet is the elusive X receiver the Patriots offense has needed since before Amazon was in the delivery business. Mukuda is our McCourty FS replacement. Good job. Stud gap power RB with a burst. Check. Tough guy linemen from Ohio State. Total winners. Check. QB with potential who can spin it really well and is undervalued? Check.

A hungry, gritty receiver and an undersized technician on the OL destined to be a fan favorite? Check.

Outstanding mock!

They've been odd this morning. The algorithm is trying, but Hunter and Carter falling out of the top 10 is crazy talk, as is Campbell and Membou going top 3.

Thanks man. I was really hoping to double dip with Ozzy, but it didn't happen. I like Mukuba a lot, and Malaki Moore later on. Mukuba was too hard to pass up.

I've seen Trapilo go at mid 30's or in the 60's (norm) on PFN.

I think they are going to have to get him in R2 to be sure, if that's the guy they indeed want. Prob cost them #77 to get back in to R2, unless they just take him at #38. I think there's gonna be as many as 6 OTs come off the board before #38.

Someone should set up a poll question, predicting the number of Ohio State players drafted. Steve102’s wonderful mock has three.

Sounds about right.

I didn't realize I had three. I have not taken Williams in any previous mocks. I'd like to have Sawyer and one of the RBs, I really don't care which. I'm partial to all things Texas myself, I am hoping they get a couple Texas or A&M boys.

I don't see Simmons falling to the 2nd.

I don’t see him getting past 25. However if any of the desired tackles were to fall, Simmons falling into the early second would we the one that makes the most sense.

For a Pats fan, sure.

For a Pats fan, sure.

Ive been doing this long enough to know a few things.

1. None of us know jack squat about what's really going to happen.

2. It's not crazy, nor unusual to see players fall. This isn't always due to said player. Sometimes it just goes way differently then expected and runs happen, trades happen and the board goes much different then anyone had it penned. No one thinks a top 1-10 guy is going to fall into the 30-40 range. But from 10-40, crazy things can, and often do happen. This years lack of top talent only makes that more of a possibility.

3. None of us know Jack Squat!

A lot of people have Simmons going in the 22-32 range. Problem is, a lot of those teams are win now teams. I could see why teams would go with Conley or Earlsy ahead of him, pushing him back a little. Its not like Simmons is the perfect prospect baring that injury. Player wise maybe, whole package no.

trying ESPN mock sim for the first time. I'm just shocked that it's free lol

Did my trade back with Philly and trade back up with Minny scenario again, but I tried to go with some players that I know @manxman2601 would approve of this time.

And another with a single trade back with Seattle to 18. That's my dream trade back spot. Their 18, and two seconds with a 2026 2nd on top of it would be great return IMO. I could see Simmons falling. Doesn't get much better for me here.

This is a weak draft. Getting 6 guys in the Top 80 is ideal.

Scourton yes. Your little binkie buddy, no. I know the athletic upside... I can't ignore the lack of production. He looks like a high end bust in-waiting to me. Sorry my man. When he gets to be an all-pro and DROY you can tell me you told me so.

Will do

Campbell is going to be a "great leader". Unfortunately the Pats need great football players.

Stewart simply needs to play in the NFL for his athletic production to show up. With upside like that, who needs college excellence?

Are you suggesting that he will be a better football player at the next level? It sounds like you’re just throwing this out there to stir up some chit. Am I reading it wrong?
