Hi @Ian what does the Featured tag on a post mean? Some posts have it and others don't. Did I add it to my posts inadvertently or is it a script that does that? Just wondered. Thanks

It's an automated Xenforo feature I enabled to test out. It shows it on the main page:

And then it also adds that tag, albeit I'm not 100% sure what it's basing that criteria to make it "Featured" off of...?

Thanks Ian. I'll take a Featured tag as a compliment anyway I guess. Lol

From what I have seen the "featured" thread simply means that it is one of the most recent threads to be started.

Not sure what the cutoff is - seems to be a week or so - but all the newly started threads have that tag.

Change the filter on the upper right from the default 'most recent' to 'first message', and you'll see they are all 'featured' threads

Yeah, right... the old 'change the filter' trick...

If 80% of threads are "featured", including a thread on the Champions League, what's the point?

I'm not really sure. Again, I don't really know the algorithm behind it or what criteria they use. All I see is that they get put into a block on the main forum page, and only three at a time:

But I agree, if it's going to tag so many of them and keep it there, even after they're no longer in that block, it doesn't make a lot of sense.

I disabled it. Obviously I agree with you and it felt a little pointless. I'll have to see if I can't rewrite the formula and reimplement it at some point, but the generic one certainly doesn't work.
