Falcons fan here

I am a Patriots fan living in Atlanta. The Falcons fans and local sports media has made me HATE the Falcons. If I ever hear the nickname "Matty Ice" again it will be too soon. I am rooting more for a Falcons loss than a Patriots win.
Calvin is that you?

I'm living in Redskins/Ravens country, so I get it. Reminds me of that scene from The Last Crusade:

nah. We were better on the road than at home this year

I noticed that about your team when I was going through your game logs. We were better on the road as well. I don't expect that kind of thing to be a factor in the Super Bowl.

@Ethanga62890

To sorta make a 3b out of this:

3b. What are your thoughts on Gabriel as a receiver? If Jones and Sanu somehow get shut down, could you count on Gabriel to pick up the slack?
I know you're asking a Falcons fan for better insight, but from what I've seen, Gabriel definitely needs to be taken seriously.

As is the case with any team (and as we all know from previous big losses), sometimes those 3rd/4th/5th receiving options can getcha.

OK kid now that you are here you might as well be of some use by answering a few question since most Pats fans don't really know who the Falcons are.

1. Tell me is atlanta really as bad a sports town as it's reputation. They're OK when your winning and fall off the ledge when you aren't. Give us some insight.

2. I'd like to know more about your top 5 DB's and your OL

3. After Jones, Saunu, and your RB's who are your other receivers?

Thanks.
sorry for the long reply
Ken will match you word for word, my friend. He's one of our favorite posters here. Welcome to the forum, and I echo the "bad luck to your team" right back to you.

That's the sense I've had from what little film I've seen on him. But I definitely would like to get more insight, if any is available.

Class act. Whatever you do don't read Dan "Shank" Shaughnessy's ********. He's a frustrated baseball fan who hates the Pats while getting other fan bases pissed off. His latest game is piss of the Patriot opponents to 1) minimize the accomplishments of thePats while 2) giving the opposing team bulletin board material. Tell your fellow Atantonians to ignore this doo-bag

I think he actually hates Boston. I remember him beating his chest and proclaiming how Bostonians are envious of New Yorkers.

But, hey, Boston hated him first. And he can't just leave...no other town would take his sorry ass.

Patriots and Falcons don't play each other very often so this is an interesting matchup from that standpoint.

who would be envious over those arrogant ****fags? All I hear from NY transplants is how much better it is to live in New York well move the **** back then.

I find it hard to even care about the Falcons.
I've always viewed the Falcons as a team without much real identity, sort of like Tampa Bay and Jacksonville.

Too bad. I think deporting him to Philadelphia would drive him nuts.

Jacksonville is the one with the guy. You know, the one with the hair?

I don't think listening to some of the Mass Media ( e.g. Shanksaucessety or Squeaky -n- Douche) would make you feel any better.

This is going to be a home game for you...not in the "which uniform" sense, but the Patriots have easily assumed the "most hated franchise" moniker placing them in the rarified air of dynasty teams like the Lakers, Celtics, Yankees, Canadiens, Blue Devils, et al. In 2014 the crowd was pretty "pro-Seattle" for similar reasons (although it started evening out later in the game because it was such a good, close game).

I don't predict scores and such, but I stand pretty confident that even if the true Atlanta fan base doesn't travel, the non-fan "just want to be seen at the event called the Super Bowl" crowd will be decidedly NOT cheering for the Pats.

"Pizza??" "This ain't pizza" "Now back in New Yak we've got pizza" "Fahgehttaboutet"

Excited to see this matchup. Glad to be up against the best NFL franchise in the past 20 years. Gotta beat the best to be the best. This is also one year the super bowl definitely has the 2 best teams in it for certain.

Both teams destroyed the competition in front of them. Number 1 d vs number 1 o. Should be a great game. Ryan and Brady are both playing with surgical precision this year (minus a subpar performance against the Texans).

Bad luck to your team Feb 5th (except with injuries only performance related)

PS I already had an account here. I don't recall ever joining lol
Hello, this SB gonna be awesome.

I only know one Falcon fan personally. He's from Alabama and he's as "Roll Tide" as they come. That's his true passion. The Falcons are a secondary consideration, so I think that's what some people are picking up on with the Falcon fanbase. The Falcons compete with the SEC and ACC football programs.

Jacksonville is the one with the guy. You know, the one with the hair?

So...that's why they got rid of Gus Bradley...he didn't fit into their culture...of having hair

3b. What are your thoughts on Gabriel as a receiver? If Jones and Sanu somehow get shut down, could you count on Gabriel to pick up the slack?

This was definitely the first question I had when I started researching the falcons historic offense. This game reminds me a lot of GB in 2014 where with the one exception of a busted coverage long TD to Nelson the pats did a number on GB's #1 and #2 receivers. It was the #3 and #4 that did all the damage and kept the chains moving because there was no pressure on Rodgers and he was able to be patient check down and find them. If Ryan can do the same or has RB's open on short passes I think it could be a long frustrating day that is very close at the end. The one thing that gives me hope is the pats defense has been phonomenal at keeping YAC to a minimum and it looks like the falcons feast on ****ty tackling.

The other thing I want to see from the pats D is getting physical. No free releases, the RB's getting the Marshall treatment (blasted with or without the ball) we have seen this story a bunch before. Historic great offense meets playoff caliber D for the first time and gets taken out as they don't produce like they are supposed to. On the other side the crappy d that has been carried thruout the playoffs plays just well enough that all of the blame goes on the O. "We held them to 20 points where were you 30+ scoring O?" ignoring that the other team played ball control keep it for 35+ mins of the game let's keep our D fresh. That's the game plan I expect the pats to roll out pound it with Blount short passes that chew up time and never put the D in a bad spot. I think pats 24 falcons 17 is not as crazy as it might sound. Then again 38-34 wouldn't shock me either but I think the pats have a much better shot of winning the first kind of game

Wow. so you're the other Falcons fan. The only other Falcons fan I know of is Cooter from Dukes of Hazzard.
