Per PFT:

Not shabby if were interested in tackles for a DB.

PFF, so take it for whatever you think it’s worth:

LOS ANGELES RAMS: S TAYLOR RAPP

Rapp finally had the type of season the Rams were hoping for when they selected him in the second round out of Washington back in 2019, but the flashes were always there. Rapp earned career-high grades against the run (82.3) and in coverage (72.9) and missed just six tackle attempts en route to 70 tackles and 14 defensive stops in 2022.

The Rams may not want to spend more in the secondary, letting safety John Johnson III walk two years ago, in which case a cheaper deal for fellow safety Nick Scott perhaps is more appealing, but Rapp has developed into a reliable player on the backend.

not great in coverage per the numbers... haven't seen him play, so i don't want to form an opinion this potential signing early on... it definitely would help fill a position of need...

the stunning thing here is that despite the rams having a ver good pass rush, his coverage stats haven't improved
just look at the allowed rating and YAC , don't know how this qualifies for a deep coverage S if he is supposed to replace dmac

Dugger
Phillips
Peppers
Rapp

...all the same player with Dugger being the most versatile and athletic.

I dunno. Are they going to play zone 95% of the time?
Yeah he isn't exactly the FS we all have in mind. Maybe Bill is going to put Mills or Jon Jones there...

the defense the rams were running... man, it was fairly effective, but it was Raheem Morris calling it... the man isn't but acts like he is a graduate of dungy school of cover two / three... lot of zone, light on man coverage...

@Real fan 02 mentioned something about Mills having played safety before, in Philly... can't remember if it was SS or FS though

Is he more of a ss or fs?

We would need more rookies to start contributing. So just go on with bledsoe .

We tend to fill roster with too many veterans and that too middling ones . Should not have more than 2 middle tier vet talent per positional group . 40% of team should be on rookie contracts and 15 % on vet minimum . Remaining 25% mid tier and at least 20% top tier .
