Well.. if Allen gets cut, I wouldn't be surprised to see him back with the Pats considering the TE issues.

Would love to see it.

He's been hurt...main reason he's been beat out of a job.

Now hopefully we can bring him back at a more reasonable price. (If he’s indeed released)

It looks like he has $1.3 million of guaranteed money from Miami, presumably with offset language. So I think any deal worth less than that and he'll essentially be playing for free, may need more $ to make it worth his while

There are a few different sites saying that Allen is unlikely to make the Dolphins’ roster, but this specific report seems worthless since it’s from the guy who just claimed that Edelman is available for trade.

There was speculation in the Miami Herald last weekend that Allen wouldn’t survive cutdown. Flores’ comments in that article didn’t sound too promising for Allen.

Dolphins TE depth:
Mike Gesicki - drafted in second round in 2019, 22 receptions on 32 targets for 202 yards in 16 games, limited blocker
Nick O'Leary - had eight receptions in 2018 on 10 targets for 86 yards in 12 games, H-back, started two preseason games
Dwayne Allen - three receptions in Patriots offense in 2018
Durham Smythe - six receptions, 11 targets, 50 yards in 2018
Camp bodies Clive Walford and Chris Myarick

Not a very explosive group.
If the Patriots were really interested in Allen they could have kept him. Dolphins signed him to a two-year $7mm contract - not crazy.
How much more would he offer over Izzo - especially if he is injured?
Per Sun Sentinel: "Allen has played sparingly in the past two preseason games because he's working his way back from a knee injury that has lingered since the 2018 season."

If released, a week two pick-up would be more likely.

Still better than ours, sadly...I'd even take former camp body Clive Walford ahead of Matty LaCost.

Not opposed at all..

WOW.. Clowney being shipped to the Seahawks..
