A tip from a longtime poster. When I start beclowning myself, as oft happens, I just stop posting for a while. Hole doesn't get any deeper.

Agreed.

And there's no reason to be posting "theories." Frankly, there are like 6 or 7 "facts" out there, and trying to connect all the dots is crazy at this point. Not to mention those "facts" may not actually be facts, or could have innocent explanations. I know playing CSI detectives is fun, but just let it go.

Can you post the facts so we can have them in one place.

Bruins - I think the issue for me here is, again, there's a lot of dots being connected without anything substantive. Aaron said he had made some bad choices in the past, ok that does lend credence to the idea that this is possibly gang or drug related, but it doesn't make it certain.

Again this statement is what really bothers me:

He hangs out at the sleaze clubs, is associated with criminals. Lloyd was no angel and the guy he allegedly shot in the face? Not a quality guy whether AH shot him or not.

Hanging out at 'sleaze clubs' is not a crime, especially given how fluid the term 'sleaze' is. A ****ty strip club is just that, a ****ty strip club. If I walked in would that make boring old me suddenly someone with underworld connections?

The guy with the lawsuit about getting his face blown off - what do we know about his relation to Aaron? Were they long time buddies or was this a one time run in? Just last week I crossed paths with a meth addict who was out of his mind. I was at the dump dropping off trash. What if something had happened and he had blamed me for it - can you really make a connection between me and that guy and call my choices of relations into question?

Again, there's a very easy connection to make here that a minority involved in a shooting means gangs, drugs and all sorts of nefarious goings-on. I'll agree that given Aaron's own statements drugs/gang **** might be the most likely scenario, but I don't like how many people are jumping to that as an ironclad conclusion. The whole 'even if he didn't pull the trigger he's guilty of bad judgement for hanging out with these sleazeballs' type comments when I've seen and read nothing authoritative that makes me certain that Aaron's associates are criminal scum.

What drugs? No one in the media or from the authorities have mentioned drugs. All this drug talk (about a deal gone bad) is speculation from people on the internet. People assuming because of Hernandez background that if someone was killed it was over drugs and gangs.

FOX25 reported one of their "sources" said it was likely drug related, specifically referencing marijuana.

Now if you are like me you will take that report with a huge grain of salt like I have pretty much taken every other report that comes out that only one media outlet reports.

Seriously this is what every outlet covering it has unanimously reported

Lloyd was murdered by gunshot
Rental car in Hernandez's name was at the scene
Police searched Hernandez's house.
Hernandez's fiance is the sister of Lloyd's girlfriend
Hernandez and Lloyd were friends
Were seen together before the murder. Yet when they were actually seen isn't clear. Might have been late Sunday or maybe Friday or Saturday.

Everything else has pretty much been only one media outlet reporting it and then other places citing them on where they got it from.

Look at Schefter, he cited ABC news that an arrest was imminent for Hernandez.

Can you please post a link to this statement? TO my knowledge, he never reported an imminent arrest. He did say this:

Adam Schefter ?@AdamSchefter 21 Jun

Update: Police have prepared arrest warrant for Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez for obstruction of justice, per ABC News.

This statement could be true. Several of the supposed inconsistencies and errors allegedly committed by the media appear instead to be misunderstandings by posters on this site and repeated uncritically without checking sources.

I've wanted to wait a few days before jumping in here and giving my opinion, but as this gets dragged on and on I really find it hard to see him putting on a Patriots uniform again.

If he's completely innocent of any wrong doing (and I hope he is) he and his attorney's would be best to have proclaimed his innocence. If I was in his situation and I was innocent I would tell the world I was innocent. Not sit there in silence. He doesn't have to do a press conference and take questions, but if he is innocent I don't know what harm can come from releasing a statement like: "I had no part in the murder of Mr. Lloyd or in any sort of cover up. I send Mr. Lloyd's family my prayers....". How could that hurt him if he is innocent?

We all know what the Patriot name and brand means to Kraft and he must be one pissed off man. All over every sports shows and sites there are stories about "the Patriots losing their way". All over the general news there are headlines "New England Patriots player linked to murder investigation". This is doing a lot of damage to the brand. Then there's the whole other situation in Florida. Even if he is totally innocent in the Boston murder the attention will then go to the Florida case. Very hard to see Kraft wanting any part of Hernandez being on his team in the future.

I was one of the posters who said a drug deal was possible in Lloyd's case, mainly due to the fact that he, by what has been reported, willingly went to an industrial park after hours and was killed there. Not because he was young and black, I'm a year younger than him and we share the same ethnicity.

Not saying that its a fact he could've been lured there in some manner, but if he willingly went there at say 2am the location and time fit the profile of a POSSIBLE drug deal. This is all wildly speculative and opinionated and there is nothing wrong with having an opinion as long as you realize that no one here knows ***** about what actually happened.

Im not trying to be a douche or arrogant or anything but Bruins29 i think you should maybe just concentrate on the Bruins for the next few days and lay off this thread for a while.

It looks like you are driving yourself demented by the possible outcomes.

My guess is the victim probably let it be known that he was dating Hernandez's girlfriend's sister and it might also be some extortion angle.

Why else would the girlfriend/aunt disappear and authorities think she "was in danger".

Best guess is they believe Hernandez knows who he was visiting.

Well if he starts talking publicly, then the police are going to expect him to talk to them. And if he tells them that he had absolutely no role at all in the murder and then it turns out that he did have some tiny part in it, then he's in trouble for lying to police.

Right now, I see two scenarios. Either Hernandez and his lawyers are going to agree to talk to police in exchange for a lesser charge or Hernandez won't talk until things end up in court, and then he'll say everything he knows to fight for his innocence there. Really, there's not a whole lot of good to be done by telling everything he knows now, because the police are going to look for ways to arrest him either way.

Another very possible outcome.

It's weird how some people can just be like I'll wait and see but i think this could have went down and leave it there. Some of us and we know who they are... here railing that he did it, was complicit, pulled the trigger himself, want him off the team, calling him a thug, blah blah blah and all with absolute certainty. To the point where if you are saying you'll wait and see your not being a "human being" lol its amazing.

In a court of public opinion it may have been better to come out and claim his innocence. But in a court of law, it can do nothing but hurt him. The police aren't going to stop investigating him because he went in front of the cameras and said he is innocent. Anything he says to the press can be used against him in a court of law.

Innocent or guilty, the smart move for Hernandez is to shut up and not talk to anyone until his lawyer negotiates a deal with the police and DA so that anything he says doesn't get him in more hot water.

It's all speculation.......at this point, those who can't handle the speculations should probably avoid the subject altogether

I just dont think he is as bad a guy as you are making him out to be. He is certainly a moron and hangs around with losers. But that is a far cry from murdering someone, or trying to cover it up which we still need details of.

I pray he is innocent which I have always suspected. Goddell could be a problem though. We dont need him suspended for a season. Or in jail or released etc...

We dont need anything.......I neither need him to play nor need him to sit.......in light of what has happened, it appears as a minor detail to me......relatively, not important at all

You are speculating as much as anyone.......bad guy, good guy........the fact that someone was killed is the reality.

Right now, there is a 1 in 3 chance that he is the killer

hard to fathom that some would readily buy in that they would drive the guy one mile away and leave the car?

That's a good one.

Unless only ONE other person was there who drove away in his/her own car.

I'm already feeling "Hernandez fatigue" to where I don't really care if he's on the team or jettisoned to Siberia. The angst just ain't worth it. I want to "enjoy" the Patriots, not vex and fret over the fate of morons behaving badly. This thread, and everything associated with it, hopefully will get swallowed by a sinkhole never to return.
