So wait Dante Stallworth commits vehicular homicide and the Patriots sign him after the fact but yet if Hernandez ends up never actually getting charged with this murder he is still completely done with the team?

Stallworth paid the price that was demanded of him

Talk to me once AH is at that same point

And Donte was drunk.

I hope given that fact there is not a double standard. However, owners or companies and Commissioners are tough to predict. Donte was for the most part a good guy and did not have a history. Plus nobody rewarded him with a huge contract and then he went out and acted like an idiot.

They put their trust and money into AH and this happened after.

Tough to predict this situation.

If AH gets off scott-free with no time, or suspension and is playing week one will you throw a hissy fit?

Stallworth is an extremely unique situation that you can't really compare to anybody else. He was still legally drunk when he went to go buy breakfast the morning after a night out and hit a guy who attempted to run across the middle of a highway. It's completely unlike the most recent NFL drunk driving death, where Josh Brent had a BAC of .189, was under the influence of marijuana, and was going 110 MPH in the accident that killed his teammate.

But I agree that we need to see some actual facts about Hernandez's involvement before people start saying definite things about his future.

Not at all......why would I?

I will laugh and comment in some sarcastic way whenever anyone brings up the 'patriot way', however.

Yes.....the situation appears to be more fluid now than at the beginning of the day Friday.

What's the next move?

Ton s of circumstantial evidence I believe.......it appears the cops need to find something before they can actually act on the arrest warrant.

What is your definition of the "Patriot Way?"

FWIW ... from gossip site: Terez Owens - The KING of all sports media. Sports Rumors and Celebrity Sports Gossip. Real Sports, Real Dirt.
According to this gossip site, this is apparently a dispute between Aaron Hernandez’s fiance’s family and his fiance’s sister’s boyfriend/ex-boyfriend, Odin Lloyd, that resulted in his murder.

This would explain Hernandez’s involvement as far as his being with Odin Lloyd, but raises more questions regarding his alleged involvement with these future in-laws.

This is all speculation regarding the family connection, as there has been nothing reported of this link by any major media outlets and there was no confirmation of who the other two parties allegedly seen with Hernandez on the night of the murder of Odin Lloyd.
Time will tell if this is an accurate report, as new details in the case continue to come out, but it is certainly an interesting theory.

What is your definition of the "Patriot Way?"

Clearly some people and media have twisted it to mean being boy scouts or something. When it really just pertains to how one should old themselves to a standard in terms of football as in doing your job, not making excuses, not talking about another team or players in a negative manner and having a next man up mentality, etc.

Wes Welker making foot jokes = Not the "Patriot Way"

Gronkowski out partying in the off-season = Has nothing to do with the "Patriot Way"

Maybe the Lord is doing this to give Tebow a chance at TE. The Lord is known to act in strange ways on occasion.

He is at that point currently, as he has no price to pay.

He's paying a price........lost 1 endorsement....cops dragging stuff out of his house, he can't go anywhere without being othered.

The question is, how high of a price will he wind up paying? Still too early to add it all up

Roethlisberger was never charged with anything and he got suspended.........

Regardless, he currently owes nothing to anyone. What could happen is speculation.

I feel the same. Basicly - Do your talking ON the field.

Yes, some of it is choosing character guys. Yes, it would be great if all our players were saints. Its just not possible. The patriot way as far as I am concerned is a lot more than that.

In todays NFL it would be impossible to only chose character guys. You need to chase talent. This is a business and the business model is you have to win.

I am actually glad the Pats have Talib, and Spikes, and Dennard on the team. Yeah as human beings they arent perfect but they are talented and are giving this team a little swagger I think it has lacked.

Again, its probably just impossible these days to only choose character over talent and needs.

If this is all only about AH, protecting his fiancee's family, then I would be willing to retract my current opinion.

I just dont think he is as bad a guy as you are making him out to be. He is certainly a moron and hangs around with losers. But that is a far cry from murdering someone, or trying to cover it up which we still need details of.

I pray he is innocent which I have always suspected. Goddell could be a problem though. We dont need him suspended for a season. Or in jail or released etc...

So perhaps his fiancee destroyed his phone and the secuity system. I would think even if he did, she could take the blame. At least with it being a family matter there is a motive.

Anyway like media stuff, i take it with a grain of salt

According to CNN the police don't consider Hernandez to be a suspect, so it is looking like his part in this is going to really be about obstructing justice. Makes me wonder if what is actually going on rright now is a tug of war between the law and Hernandez attorneys over the levels of immunity they are going to provide Hernandez in return for his cooperation, as well as Hernandez willingness to testify against his friends.

He should sing like a canary. There is no reason not to tell the police everything he knows. This is his chance to lose his so called "friends" for good.

And, hopefully he will with the assistance of his attorneys. That is the only way to do it. The truth will come out. That is all we ask.

I still think he had nothing to do with it and that includes supposed coverups. He could have thrown his cell against the wall when he heard what happened. I would have.

The other stuff is all conjuncture.
