This isn't a causal relationship. Brady just happened to be voted MVP and then not win the Superbowl in those years.

My caring about winning the SB is the size of a Wooly Mammoth. My caring about the MVP award is the size of a hamster. Not nothing, but very little.

I’m very glad Maye played well enough to be a top contender, though, as having a top flight QB is gold. The award itself ? Meh.
