I almost feel sorry for this JEST fan's awareness. . . .

The followup is just as golden.

Nice find, fun thread to read. My favorite post was the guy who loved that the Pats chose a 2nd day QB with the 15th pick.

In the battle of the former byu “jag” qb’s, hill destroys Wilson.

when will the jets hit the mythical “nadir” of their organizational dysfunction?

Jeez - what a kick in the butt... Archie (Carroll O'Connor) was only 55 when the show ended! I wish I was still only 55. You have successfully made me feel very old today. :)
I have several theories:

- Perhaps having outdated biases and views adds to perceived age. Especially back then, ONLY the "older generation" was openly backward. (That did change somewhat, although the new strategy of the revisionist/revanchist lobby is to stop people from voting. They've thrown in the towel on competing on those ideas.)

- Maybe Archie - being a man in his 50s way back then -- was closer to death than a similarly aged man today (although that should only be good for an adjustment of a few years.)

- It is also possible that I misjudged Archie as being old, when it turns out his age is not old at all, once I surpassed it.

- Although it is unlikely in the extreme, it is also possible that Archie was old, and I am actually whatever comes after old. Except I am still breathing, so that's bs.

The Yankees have won, by far, the most World Series of any franchise, 27 for them, 11 for the Cardinals, 9 for the Red Sox and the Athletics (both Philly and Oakland). The Yankees were so dominant that their success spawned a great musical, Damn Yankees.

The way the salary cap is structured makes that not a very impressive feat to me

Its why i dont watch baseball, you can pretty much make a direct correlation of the size of the market/cash flow the team has to where they place in the league

I've been spending more time on other teams' boards to see reaction. I enjoy it.

just remember, you are only young once but you can be immature at any time.
Many years ago a forum owner (not Ian :haha:) called me "puerile". It bothered me a bit at the time but now I have the good sense to take pride in the label :haha:

Full disclosure: 56

When I was bringing my now ex wife over to meet my parents we flew into SF and had a long layover so I took her to see Alcatraz etc...

We took a bus from the airport to the city but got off the bus a block too early. What an embarrassing eye opener that was. Her first time in the US and we were literally walking around people sleeping on cardboard boxes. We walked past a guy peeing in the doorway of a store. I couldn't believe it. After walking by about thirty or forty homeless people we finally got to where we should have gotten off. After that it was nice. We took a taxi back just to be safe. Haha.

Boston is the best big city I've been to in the US. There is no comparison. SF is the 2nd worst. NYC is total dog shyt.
Up here in the northeast we like to say... there's snowplace like home.

Home is where the heart is.

It still blows my mind and I was in my early 20s for it. As a fan experiencing a SB loss is rough but 4 in a row is incomprehensible
I hated the NFL for the way they treated the AFL (they still have issues and I still pull for the AFC) and rooted for Buffalo every one of those games. I was almost as hurt as their fans when they lost.
