Edelman may be worth $6-$8 million, but is he worth that to a team that has Amendola?

Re: Edelman may be worth $6-$8 million, but is he worth that to a team that has Amend

I think that he is an inconsistent player who has two or three big games every season and is mediocre in the others. I think he has been that way every season and the groin injury doesn't factor into that either way in my mind.

If he could do it in weeks one, nine and fifteen with the same groin injury why couldn't he do it in the other eleven games he played? Did it only hurt sometimes? If he was bad every week then we could say it was the groin but that was not the case, he was inconsistent because that is the type of player he is and has always been.

You don't think he actually tore a groin muscle last year?

Re: Edelman may be worth $6-$8 million, but is he worth that to a team that has Amend

a hundred members here have told him repeatedly that Amendola was playing with a totally torn groin muscle, off the bone, all season. He refuses to even TRY to understand how hard it is to even WALK never mind play NFL football for a full season. I just tore my groin muscle at B.U. playing B ball when I was a soph. Sat out the winter until summer league...and THAT was just a tear. I have no idea what they shot him up with to get him out there but THAT Amendola was about 1/2 of what he really would be if healthy. Amendola looked just as advertised in camp and preseason before the tear.

I understand it, but what about his other 5 years in the NFL? Wouldn't the groin be healthier in week 20 of the season than it was in week 15? Why was he able to catch 10+ balls and gain 100+ yards against Miami but had 0 catches against Denver. The injury was not a consistent issue so why should I accept something that was not consistent as an excuses for poor play?

What about Edleman's other 4?

No I think he was inconsistent in 2012 with the Rams, he had 26 catches in 2 games and 37 in the other 9 he played just like he was inconsistent this season when he had 357 yards in 3 games and 276 yards in his other 9 games.

He was productive as rookie with 43 catches in 12 games. He was targeted 54 combined times in 2010, 2011, and 2012 combined. I think it is hard to catch a football when it is not being thrown to you.

Whatever. You have an answer for everything. It is no wonder so many posters here have you on ignore.

Now we're getting somewhere. Did you examine him? How did he get away with taking four games off on a Belichick team, faked MRI?

It is not personal, seriously I think 99% of the posters in here are great, it is annoying when people turn an assessment or conversation about a player into a back and forth battle between each other. We all have the same goal and support the same team.

Unless you're Amendola, then you're supposed to.

Re: Edelman may be worth $6-$8 million, but is he worth that to a team that has Amend

BB OVERPAID for Amendola....majorly. Edelman is a guy that has continued to get BETTER and has proven that he is tough as nails......Amen-dola....should have his name spelled and pronounced that way....because every time he takes any kind of hit....I AND ALL PATS FANS...are PRAYING that he will not be out for 8-10 weeks. The kid coulda been somebody....IF he was not made of glass....Has plenty of talent....just will NEVER stay on the field. I think because BB overpaid for him....he will be here....on IR after a glancing blow in preseason....and Edelman will be signed elsewhere.....

What is not personal? That many people have you on ignore? It ain't business.

Also, if you take a step back you may notice that you are always one of the people in these back and forth battles.

Why do you think that is?

Re: Edelman may be worth $6-$8 million, but is he worth that to a team that has Amend

What about them? He was buried behind Gronk, Welker, Hernandez, and lloyd in terms of getting looks. When given an opportunity to be a go to guy, he took it with no looking back.

Amendola had a shot at being #1 or #2 in St. louis and performed OK. He is just a guy you think next year is gunna be "the year" but he ends up getting hurt.

Its been the same story with him, and until that changes you cannot sit here and say Edelman isn't that better receiver.

Right now he is/was. But if he isnt here next year what does that matter.

Last year is over.

You know part of being a pro athlete is conditioning you body to with stand the abuse and limit injuries. There is a difference between a player suffering a contact injury and suffering groin muscle injury. I am not going to lean on the players failure to properly condition his body as an excuse for his poor performance.

Last year is over.

What matters is it proves we overpaid for the wrong guy, if we lose Edelman and Danny gets hurt again or just doesn't perform well then it will just be viewed as a mistake.

Every team makes mistakes, and Amendola over Edelman could be one for us.

Yeah with the same 3-5 posters and it always is centered around Amendola. Mainly because if I say Amendola they come a running to defend him as if he caught the SB winning catch in a wheel chair and I dared to say something negative about him.

I don't think you have access to who has me on ignore so I don't know if I would make bold assertions without that information.

Could very well be. And I am a huge JE fan. Lets see what DA can do. If he does not put it together next year, he is gone.

What exercises do you do to prevent a tendon ripping, Doctor? I suppose you could avoid this

"It occurs when athletes change direction quickly with forceful twisting motion at the hip."

So tell us Doctor, how do you play slot receiver without changing direction and making forceful twisting motions at the hip?

Multiple posters have proclaimed they have you on ignore. I dont even read the board that much and I have seen it so it must be somewhat prevalent.

You have been in many battles on this site with several posters. Probably more battles than anyone here.

Do you deny either of these?

This is going nowhere you want him to be a good signing so you make yourself believe he is, there is no point and arguing cause there is no value to be gained. Talk to you later buddy!
