Just rewatched the game. Did not notice that Drake fumbled the ball on his first scramble. He was not credited with a fumble anywhere I have seen but that is why he stayed down for long in the first half when we were 10 down.
Luckily he bounced right on the ball. 2nd quarter 12:17 game clock is where it happened.
He fumbled, knee was not down.

The great thing about Maye playing so well and winning, well besides the winning, is it should attract offensive free agents. The days of missing out on offensive players we needed/wanted, may be over because of Maye and the team becoming a winning team again. Add in Vrabel. Even the offseason signings we had this spring, most said Vrabel was one of the major reasons they signed. Now the Maye effect should help as well.

This is not the worst take that I have heard on sports radio. It is to be expected that teams will game plan against Maye and that he will see things that confuse him. Even the best veteran QBs can be taken off their game by a good defensive strategy. The encouraging thing about Maye is that he is resilient enough and smart enough to figure out how to counteract struggles to make enough plays to get by when things aren't clicking. That said you should still stop listening to WEEI, LOL

Agree completely. One of the biggest hurdles a young quarterback has to overcome is when defensive coordinators have enough tape to be able to game plan effectively against your strengths and weaknesses. The ability to react to that and still beat them is a turning point in their careers. The ones who can overcome this usually go on to great careers, the ones who can't end up being mediocre, carrying a clipboard, or asking if you want fries and a drink with your order. Maye hasn't just overcome this, he's made everyone around him better, and is the best young quarterback in football, if not the best period.

It says something really good about Maye that he's doing it without the all star cast around him that Mahomes and Peyton Manning had. Like Brady he is showing that he can get it done without stars at the skill positions. And Vrabel and Co. are going to build up both his line and his weapons over the next couple of offseasons. Should be great fun to watch.

No. The NFL media group posted a picture of Drake with that wording underneath (assumed: by accident).
That was what started it as a Twitter etc meme.

He has made the year a smashing success. 10-2 with a team that cannot run and far from a top defense. I expect tougher games coming up but they already outperformed all reasonable expectations. In outstanding position for coming years.

It didn't originate with that post, though that might be what popularized it. Over on Xitter you can find references to "Drake 'Drake Maye' Maye" several weeks before that.
