Does tonight's game matter at all?

Anything less than a convincing victory tonight at Gillette Stadium, the New England Patriots don't deserve a playoff seeding.

Get that 2007 nonsense mentality out of here, seriously.

If they win tonight they're tied for the best record in the NFL. They don't deserve a playoff seeding if they win by 3 points? Would you say the Jets deserve it over them then? ************.

It's true though, this game really DOESN'T matter if the Jets win out.

It's not just about the #1 seed. We're trying to win a Super Bowl here. And that means we need to keep improving, we need to use every single game we have left to get better.

We have 18 guys on this roster who are in their first or second year and played meaningful snaps for us so far, and they need every minute of experience they can get in a high-intensity game where the other guy is fighting for their life.

So yes, this game does matter, maybe not for HFA, but for the ultimate goal of winning it all.

The remaining games are all about this.

If by any chance BB happens to see this thread, :beatingcoming:

I don't give a crap what you think! The New York Jets put the pressure back on the New England Patriots. The Miami Dolphins are done, fish food. It's time to take care of business with a statement!

I meant it doesn't matter from a technical standpoint. It definitely has meaning in the development of the team.

Obviously, I want the team to win. And I want it to keep developing and working toward the ultimate goal.

But the reality is that this game is not that meaningful with respect to the Patriots' playoff seed. For all of you folks saying I'm a moron, nobody has come up with a single scenario where this game matters except:

The Patriots lose their last two and the Jets do not win out.

Great. So, tonight has minor importance.
