Also, the defender that caught the ball hit Gronk's knee (not a penalty as he was going for the ball) while going for the ball. This made it harder for Gronk to plant his foot to stop. A couple years from now (when Gronk is more Veteran) he'll fall to the ground like he was pushed and they won't be able to pick up that flag.It wasn't underthrown. Look at the replay. Gronk attempts to plant his back foot and come back to the ball and, while doing that, is bear-hugged by the defender. The Panthers player who made the pick made it with his arms extended laterally to his right. If the ball were underthrown, the defender would have also had to have made a shoetop catch with his arms much much closer to the ground.
