So, i found this interesting that Diggs is crediting the Patriots Drs and Training Staff with his recovery:

Diggs has really been a class act his entire time in NE. I always thought his "diva" stuff was a little overblown based on what I'd read from his time in Houston but he's still surprised me. Keep this guy around a while. Even if he slows down a bit, he can carve out a role in that Welker/Dola Z/slot position and probably do it another ~4 or 5 years well just with quick feet, late hands, chemistry with Maye and playing smart.

People get caught up in the Diva thing too much. Diggs has been awesome...no complaints.

Could have been a case where he was seeing the field better than his OC and QBs and was getting frustrated. He now seems to have met someone in Josh who sees what he sees and even better.

I’m really starting to like this guy. Keep throwing him the ball.

Class move. He has turned out to be a great signing. Good job by Eliot Wolf, that's a well structured deal.

Happy when we signed him. Really happy he is playing well so soon after this injury.
Totally shocked that the much maligned training staff is being credited with his recovery. Vrabel must have replaced those people too?

Nothing to be confused about Tommy. Wolf negotiates the contracts. I'm sure he gets plenty of input from Vrabel, Cowden , and possibly even Streicher, but he negotiates the deals, and he did a good job structuring Diggs deal.

If you don't believe me go watch the interview with Marcus Jones in front of his locker. He's asked repeatedly about making the deal and he said he didn't have an agent, but he dealt with "coach" Vrabel and " Eliot." There was no mention of Cowden, even though he was asked multiple times. And we both know that Vrabel doesn't negotiate the deals, even though I believe he's the one with final say on who they sign and who they don't sign.

I think Diggs will always be in tremendous physical shape
he also seems to be a cerebral WR, that knows everything about the offense, route running and playing smart football. great positional room leader for a young and inexperienced group.

Diggs ability to find holes in defenses has been exceptional. I had my doubts about him in the offseason, but he's been great in every way, and I think the entire unit is benefitting from his knowledge and presence.

Get Williams to shadow him 24/7.

I think he's sharing his knowledge with all of these guys, and they will all benefit from it. I think Diggs has completely embraced being a team and unit leader, and he's enjoying the change in roles.

What a malcontent this guy is...giving credit to those that never get any

I think Diggs is one of those very particular professionals whose tenacity and preference for continual improvement challenged other staff and was then mischaracterized as having an attitude. When in reality, players like Diggs tend to really lock in and be a huge boon for teams that work with their expectations and deliver on them.

Diggs behavior here mirrors that of one of my kids when in elementary school. Was always acting up, then an observant teacher ask us to move him up a grade because he was bored and that could be the reason. He had too much time on his hands. He skipped a grade and not a single complaint from school again. Was just that simple. Sometimes high functioning folks need a new environment that resonates with their internal drive.

I was that kid.

I still remember the ninth grade teacher that called me aside after class for a conversation that started with “I’ve noticed you’re not doing your homework.” Just as I was internally bracing myself for the inevitable chastising I often got, he surprised me. “But you’re acing your tests. As long as you continue doing that I don’t care about your homework.” He graded the final on a curve. I got 104.

Contrast with tenth grade bio teacher. Hallway conversation the next year:
Her: “congratulations on scoring 800 on the College Boards biology achievement test”
Me: “thanks. Why di I get s C for the year?”
Her: <pause> “you didn’t do your homework.”

Nice article. Thanks for sharing.
