I seem to remember that when the issue came up as to whether or not a defender should be able to have communication equivalent to the QB on offense, that NE backed the proposal. Is that true?

It's obvious where I'm going here, that if NE were at all unique in intercepting signs they wouldn't have pushed for a method that would eliminate their advantage.

Was it simply brought up in the competition committee and NE never had input? Did NE support it? Maybe I'm just tired but I can't find anything useful.

Actually NE opposed the addition of that rule.

While I believe NE opposed it...it had to do more with the logistics of it than the concept...there really is NO QB equivalent on defenses now..a MLB may call signals when they are in bur with specilization on D..it's a bit trickier if oNLY 1 can have the communication

I've heard different stories on that.. Until I main media outlet reports it, I'm not going to believe it either way.
