Despite Their Record, Oakland Now The Next Roadblock For Patriots

I think this is common talk for just about every single season. I highly doubt that JAX finishes with 13 wins. They became the only team to throw 2 interceptions in the final two minutes of an NFL game and still somehow win, likely due to their opponent being the Chargers, who actually have talent but invent new ways to lose every Sunday.

As a matter of fact, I think the chances of the AFC having more than one team with 13+ wins is pretty low, but that’s just my opinion. Maybe there ends up being two teams. Hard to imagine four, though.

Yeah, I'd guess JAX finishes with 10-12 wins. TEN, though, might have a floor of 8 wins.

However, KCY probably has a floor of 11 wins and could win out for 13. OTOH, the Steelers probably have a floor of 10 wins and I'd be shocked if they came close to running the table to finish with 13. In fact, the may be a good chance that the Steelers are sweating it out over the #2 seed in wk-17, if they're tied with JAX (JAX beat the Steelers in wk-5 at Pittsburgh).

Yes there is no chance of that happening.

I don't think it is likely. But where am I missing on the schedule and the math that makes it literally impossible, as you assert?

I've had moments here as a poster where, aside from Xs and Os, I feel we just tread the same ground, but then I finally check out this thread and see three pages of discussion about the next opponent's punter...but not insightful discussion...hawt taek discussion..about a punter.

You win internet.

I’m not saying no mathematical chance I’m saying no realistic chance.
The winner of the Steelers/pats could lose 1 more and the other 3 could lose.
You are talking about 4 teams going a combined something like 26-2.
There is a better chance of an asteroid strike.

Its probably just me but I find the thread title really funny. I presume it means to say that the Raiders might be more formidable than their record indicates. But, as worded, it implies that their record should actually disqualify them from playing the game!

Like I said, it's probably just me.

I think instead of letting their All-World punter have a shot, the Pats should just let the Raiders score on every drive to keep the ball out of his hands.

Well, at least a bunch of us are racking up some "Funny" points.

We're really gonna be rollin' in Comedy Gold, now!

The funniest part of all the Raider punter tire pumping is the most likely outcome of the altitude change is either more touchbacks, less control, or out kicking the coverage allowing longer returns.
