Despite Critics Stevan Ridley Not Exactly 'Fumble Prone'

This article was pretty much the kiss of death for Ridley. Fumbles earlier this week and now a leg injury!

" History has long shown that nothing is more difficult than to secure the release of forces once they have been incorrectly tied up somewhere".- Field Marshall Erich von Manstein

Do you know how you don't get points while giving up yards?

Conversely, how don't you know that you can not allow points but allow yards?

Nice anecdotal questions, though.

Are you truly claiming that yards allowed has no correlation to points allowed?

About headline or thread title:

Yes, I can believe you or my eyes.

How many less points do you think the Patriots can give up while still allowing near historic yards per game on defense? The teams that allowed less than 300 points last year allowed 272 yds/G, 308 yds/G, 289 yds/G and 286 yds/G. Do you really think we're going to improve our scoring defense while still allowing >100 yds/g more than the top defenses?

You are talking about the NFL.

At some point, it has to be understood that the "raison de etre" of the NFL franchise is to win football games.

The top three teams with the best records were the top three teams getting turnovers.

The top two teams with the best records gave up the most yards.

Getting turnovers= win games

Give up most yards= win more games.

If the top teams have a common trait that they get the most turnovers and the best teams give up the most yards; what drives anybody with an ounce of common sense to fixate on yards?

The movie "Moneyball" was instructive. That kid from Yale nailed it. Most people have no idea how and why winning occurrs. They prefer to fixate on the dumbest things that just reinforce their inner bias.

You're the only one fixating on yards. You seem to think that everyone but you thinks it's the most important factor, meanwhile most people are simply saying it's ONE OF the important factors.

Again, are you saying that there is no correlation between yards allowed and scoring? Maybe you should consult with BB on this one. It seems to be giving you some trouble.
