He does look good on tape, good arm, accuracy, can make plays with his legs but he is not really moving the needle for that sorry azz franchise. People talk so much about him like he's a HOF I'd expect a little more when it comes to W's. I said before , many great QB's also had to deal with weak rosters and got the W's.
Mahomes
Brady
Rodgers
Wilson
Big Ben
Brees
Lamar
Matt Ryan
Josh Allen
Rivers ?
How is he a top 5 QB?
I'd also list a few that are generating more results on the field for their teams, ok they're in better situation but just to mention
Goff
Dak
JimmyG
Don't get me wrong he is a great player but for me the jury is still out
This is interesting to me. The premise being so whatever it takes to get a qb of this caliber. (I do disagree with many you put ahead of Watson but that’s a different topic)
I throw out Brady and mahomes because they are just unique and if you knew what they’d become you’d give up tour whole team for them.
so here is the list of candidates with their track record next to them prior to this postseason . (And yes these will be added to this year).
Watson 4 years 1 playoff win
Rodgers 13 years. 11 playoff wins 1 Sb
Wilson 9 years. 9 playoff wins 1 Sb
Ben 17 years 13 playoff wins 2 Sb
Brees. 19 years 8 playoff wins 1 Sb
Jackson 3 years 0 playoff wins
Ryan. 13 years 4 playoff wins
Allen 3 years 0 playoff wins (1 now)
Rivers 15 years 5 playoff wins
Goff. 5 years 2 playoff wins
Prescott. 5 years 1 playoff won
Garopolo. 3 years 2 playoff wins
So all combined these elites played 109 seasons and won 56 playoff games and 5 SBs.
The average is 9 seasons 4.6 playoff wins .4 Sbs, or 1 every 22 years.
In seasons where there are 12 playoff teams there are 11 playoff wins. So over 9 seasons the average team wins 3.1 playoff games and of course 1 Sb every 32 years.
if we were to subtract Ben from the list the 11 remaining QBs have 92 seasons 43 playoff wins and 3 SBs. Which works out to almost exactly the league average of sbs and just under 4 playoff wins.
