Deshaun Watson accused of sexual assault in lawsuit

I'm willing to own up. All I wanted was facts, now we have them. And they make it impossible to defend Watson, if everything we've heard is true. The fact that Watson's lawyer isn't disputing the narrative is pretty telling, but Buzbee still has to take the consensual angle seriously. As shady as this is, Hardin has contract law to fall back on as an indicator of consent. It's something Buzbee will have to overcome as we get to trial. Because I still think this is going to trial.

Contract law has nothing to do with this.

next thing Stumpy will pull up to defend this shytbag is "Intergalactic Moron Law"....if everything we heard is true...so you're STILL hanging on by your fingernails, eh Stumpleton? Uh huh...well...there's an old saying...if it walks like 22 ducks and quacks like 22 ducks, has an orange beak and black webbed feet, most likely that's one ducky case....

Here's how I see this shaking out:
  • This won't go to court, or if it does, not for long. A trial is in no one's best interest. It's a grueling character assassination for the women, who will have to discuss their sexual history at length. For Watson, there's nothing worse that having to talk in detail about the encounters, and the prosecutor knows that. His image is permanently destroyed when he discusses explicit details.
  • So, I see this as a game of chicken right now. Both are claiming they'll go to court and yet they want to avoid that at all costs. If Watson had a chance to settle with the first lady for 100K, he is going to regret - and I mean, really regret - not ending this then. It's going to be exponentially more expensive to settle now, but he has a **** ton of money and I see a big settlement with undisclosed terms.
  • Watson settles and then makes a vague statement that he's made "mistakes" but the PR team will make it seem that the mistake was putting himself into bad situations, rather than, you know, channeling his best Harvey Weinstein skills. He'll act contrite about the crap he's caused "loved ones" "the Texans organization" and "everyone who he hurt" as an umbrella apology.
  • I see a 4 game suspension and the NFL immediately getting ahead of the hyprocristy by expressing the suspension in terms of dollars lost, making it seem like a giant suspension because his contract is so huge. In reality, I think based on precedent, he should be suspended for a least one full season. This is a chronic sexual predator, not a guy who made a dumb decision one night.
  • He'll get married within a year, to a "Christian woman" and you'll never read another article about him where his faith and strong relationship isn't referenced.

The email between the lawyers that Watson's lawyer stupidly published already gives the game plan: it's an important learning lesson for a young high profile athlete. It sure is! For gods sake, stop harassing random massage therapists and hire some professional call girls!

Right, this is the Rapistburger strategy. He'll keep her at home barefoot and pregnant while he finds more discrete ways to get his rocks off.

been staying away from this one, but just had to laugh when i read this piece

disclaimer: Its pretty clear that Watson is a piece of garbage and is going to get hammered for this, as he should. I still can't help but laugh at the scripts these lawyers have some of their clients pull in the media

Gotta love when one of the girls asks for $100,000 in hush money or she will go public. Then goes public, and starts off her statement with "My name is Ashley WhoCares. Remember that name." What a ridiculous and flat out odd way to make an opening statement. The other girl made a statement from her lawyer, but this girl went on camera and said that... No agenda there!

Always believable when they follow that up with "Some say im doing this for the money. That is false. I'm doing this to make sure Watson is held accountable!"

You always know people like that are pretentious and full of ****, because if they cared about justice and making sure Watson was held accountable so he could never hurt another woman, then you would file CRIMINAL CHARGES against him and get him thrown in jail. Instead, they go for a civil suit to line their pockets with money as their measure of "justice"

That being said, I don't believe they're lying about what happened with Watson, he is CLEARLY a perp of some type. I just can't stand the pretentious grand-standing from the lawyers in what is an obvious cash grab. No matter how many times i say Watson is guilty and a POS, im sure a few PC police will go animal on me for laughing at the obvious pretentious nature of that Ashley girls press conference lol

He will not play a game this season. In fact, he may never play again.

Which, of course, is a totally classy move and definitely not an intimidation tactic.

This is gonna force the NFL’s hand real soon.

I think the NFL has roughly 4 1/2 months before anything forces their hand.... they got lucky on the timing of all this...

I just don't understand how these dudes think they are going to get away with it. You have the money, there are discreet escort services that guarantee your privacy and keep you from ending up in jail and paying millions of dollars in damages. You have a fetish, fine, take it up with a professional. Stop harassing people trying to make a living.

This is pretty spot on. Taking a page from Ben Rothlisberger's book.

Unless the dude gets his rocks off of harassing unsuspecting masseuses.

Even if that's the case, you have to know you're going to get nailed at some point. Why risk it
