too much. I would do 4 and 69 for 9, 40 and Olave.Would you do 4, 38 and Olave for 9, 40 and 93?
I would.

I am seeing this post more and more often, albeit for different teams.Saints in the running for the top pick in 2026, if I was them, I'd skip the QB this year and go all in on the tank for 2026.
You might be forgetting how poorly Penix, Nix, and McCarthy were viewed 2 weeks before last year's draft. When Atlanta picked Penix almost every expert criticized the pick and today it was obviously the right pick.Except they may like Shough or Dart or another QB more than Sanders. The issue now is that Sanders is not looked at as a clear QB2 in this draft by many teams anymore, he's in with a few other guys depending on the team.
It's unlikely the Saints love Sanders any more than 1 of the other QB's.
If someone is trading up for Sanders, it'll most likely be around pick 20 if he slips that far and trading up from round 2.
Sanders would have ranked below Penix, Nix and McCarthy.
If we are trading down there is our dance partner.Yess Sanders is looking nice for them now.
I prefer Membou. If we are trading down there is our dance partner.
4 is suddenly more valuable.
I still like the idea of trading up to 2 more than likely Wolf just takes the can of Campbell soup. Chunky noodle.
That ^.You might be forgetting how poorly Penix, Nix, and McCarthy were viewed 2 weeks before last year's draft. When Atlanta picked Penix almost every expert criticized the pick and today it was obviously the right pick.
The point is risk versus cost. If the Saints love a QB they would be silly not too trade up for a 3rd rounder in my opinion. For a 2nd rounder they might take the risk. Sanders will go in the Top 10 or 12.
The Farthest I see him falling is 10-12 I think you're way off. Don't get the Patriots hate for the kid. But I remember Drew Brees going in the Second Round...I think Sanders is going to surprise Patsfans.Except they may like Shough or Dart or another QB more than Sanders. Cheap used Carr? The nice thing for the Saints was that Carr was relatively cheap for a vet QB.
This minus 38 and Olave.Would you do 4, 38 and Olave for 9, 40 and 93?

I don't think it was Penix that they criticized, it was taking Penix after signing Cousins for so much money. You might be forgetting how poorly Penix, Nix, and McCarthy were viewed 2 weeks before last year's draft. The criticism wasn't the pick itself but rather the pick being made in light of the fact that they just signed Kirk Cousins to a 4 year, $180 million deal. You might be forgetting how poorly Penix, Nix, and McCarthy were viewed 2 weeks before last year's draft. Cousins was a 2 year deal at $50M per year ($100M guaranteed even though it was said to be a 4 year deal). Penix is on a 4 year rookie contract. Not ideal, I agree, but not outrageous if you want to make a short term run at the owner's request while plannig for the long term. That GM might be sticking around for awhile.I don't think it was Penix that they criticized, it was taking Penix after signing Cousins for so much money.
I agree on your second point, though.
See my response above. The criticism wasn't the pick itself but rather the pick being made in light of the fact that they just signed Kirk Cousins to a 4 year, $180 million deal.
I think of him as more like Geno Smith.Sanders is a slightly tougher version of Mac Jones imho.
