Until 5th December? So the judge might put him away just in time for the playoffs?

On December 5th, Dennard will receive his sentence and will likely approve a delay in serving the sentence until the season is over.

I don't understand the concerns. The court has gone out of its way to not interfere with Dennard's contributions to the team.

From a team point then I hope you're right about it being delayed until the end of the season, in that case he can be back for TC too (and it will be harder for him to get in trouble!).

As far as "harder to get in trouble" is concerned, if he racks up another one of these types of offenses, it isn't gonna matter whether he's here, Nebraska or on the moon.

Sentencing does not mean that he misses any time. The three month delay is quite promising in that the judge feels like this period of probation is critical to her decision about his penalty. If he keeps his nose clean, he'll get some community service, like telling Ndamakong Suh not to be douche, and extended probation.

In a weird way, the Hernandez deal will make it easier on Dennard to get the help from the team he needs to stay out of trouble.

This is good news.

Post of the day!!!

Not that we can't get there, but that is a bit of cart before horse there.

Thanks.

I still have a lot of faith the Pats are in the post season but you can't miss a chance to Mora a playoffs comment. It's the Rick Roll of the sports community (along with Iverson's "practice?")

If this is true then the Pats dodged a bullet so to speak

My guess is that Dennard's attorney negotiated a deal for him not to miss any time in the season.

The good news is that if he does, Arrington has been playing very well thus far this season and could hold his own with Dennard gone for a few games.

We need all the good DB's that we can in case of injury and having a the best DB's out there nickle or dime situations in the pass happy NFL.

All the more reason for him not to get in any on field situations like he did with the Jests.

I'm confused. All three corners have played almost all the reps. Arrington has been the starter. If Dennard is out, the question is how much do we lose with Ryan in the game instead of Dennard. To me, we aren't lucky in that we haven't seen anything from Ryan, and half little to reason that there would not be a major drop off (as one expects when backups need to play). We are lucky if we get to have no lost time from our three top corners.

CB Alfonzo Dennard to find out legal fate today | Boston Herald

The Patriots cornerback is scheduled for a probation sentencing in Lancaster District Court today at 2:30 p.m. ET, and a DUI sentencing at Lancaster County Court at the same time tomorrow. However, Dennard’s lawyer, Alan Stoler, told the Herald yesterday Dennard filed a request for a continuance to delay the sentencing until after the NFL season.

Stoler hoped Dennard’s compliance with his probation terms would be enough to sway the judge’s opinion for the continuance. Stoler said Dennard has completed more than 65 hours of probation work since September and could finish the remainder of his 100 hours by the end of the season, even though he has two years to complete the terms. Dennard’s hours have included time working with the Foxboro Police Department, the Boys & Girls Club and some youth speaking engagements to raise awareness of the dangers of drugs and alcohol.

Dennard will learn this afternoon if he is granted the continuance. He also has to appear tomorrow to enter a plea, and Stoler said Dennard is still undecided if he’ll plead guilty or not guilty. Dennard declined an interview request yesterday in the locker room.

Yeah, this is pretty standard. Whatever happens will definitely impact his offseason, but it shouldn't mess with his contributions this season at all.

is that why he is out today or is it injury?
