Deion Branch back with the Patriots

Re: Branch back

You'll have to tell me why BB didn't factor this into the equation when he cut him. Apparently every other team in the NFL didn't see it either when his phone didn't ring. I like the signing as depth insurance and will be happy to admit being wrong if he plays much better this season.

FYI when asked today, Branch said he had several other teams offering him jobs. He said the Pats opportunity was best for his family.
Job satisfaction should rate high where people already have lots of money.

Over/under 2.5 catches this sunday for Deion?

I say over

It was reported that the Pats never took Branch's nameplate off his locker so its enitirely possible that management told him he would likley be back. He'd be crazy to sign with another team in that case. If there was no sucn inference I have a hard time beleiving that Branch would turn down another NFL paycheck (regardless of how wealthy he is) if he still wanted to play in the league.

I posted that Brady and Branch demonstrate most of their chemistry exploiting busted coverage... which happens most often to Branch as he is an afterthought in the offense, and in defensive plans.
No you actually said this:

because Branch is the last guy the defense accounts for.

How you got from there to "actually, common misconception, defenses often account for all receivers and try not to let them run about the field unsupervised" I can't decipher.
And those are not my words

I wasn't saying the Pats have Branch back because the entire offense will just be quick-throws to him, since defenses just won't cover him.
I know you weren't which does nothing to address whether you were incorrect. You didn't say Bozo was your favorite clown either, and that has as much to do with whether you were right as what you are saying here.

I think so. it seems to me that Greg Salas was simply a place holder for Branch until the team was ready to re-sign him. Im a little upset we gave up a pick for Salas though.

I am pretty sure you can get back a late round pick in the 2015 draft. That doesn't make me upset at all.

By 2015,Belichick will have accumulated 23 7th rd draft choices.......which he will then use to trade for Peyton Manning as back-up to Tom Brady.

Fine, I'll do it the blunt, plodding way, if that's the preference.

Defenses account for all 5 eligible receivers on every play.

They do not. That is why the term "busted coverage" exists. Defensive players misread formations and personnel, or confuse their own coverage, leading to defensive time-outs or to completely uncovered players cavorting about.

A chemistry that nowadays is chiefly on display every time there's a busted coverage in his vicinity, usually because Branch is the last guy the defense accounts for.

(I posted that) Brady and Branch demonstrate most of their chemistry exploiting busted coverage... which happens most often to Branch as he is an afterthought in the offense, and in defensive plans.

These are equivalent statements. If two separate people posted them, they would be considered in agreement. When the same person posts them, and the person is me, it is considered schizophrenic apparently.

I think you severely underestimate the pervasiveness and applicability of clownsmanship here.

I see the makings of a pissing contest here.
