Not really.

I'm still trying to figure out at what point the Patriots had a chance to deflate balls if the balls were delivered to the refs, and then put in charge by an NFL official.

If it was a deflated kicking ball that stayed in play, it would have benefited the Colts as deflated balls are better for kicking.

A lot of major media outlets have picked up this story. The NFL will have answer this very soon, either to quash or confirm it, or it will be a huge shadow looming over the super bowl. Aaargh! I really can't take this. This does lessen my enjoyment of the win a little as it gives all those who hate the Pats an immediate, albeit completely ridiculous, retort to the Patriots' accomplishments. Every major journalist will be all over this in the morning with their sources, and I really hope this is over by noon time. Some quick knee-jerk reactions regarding this:

1. This sounds ridiculous and completely bogus.
2. I know enough science to know that weather can have a significant impact on air pressure in balls.
3. I do not think this alters the outcome of the game in any ways, but that won't matter.
4. Looking at the remote possibility that something happened here, I could see maybe a low level employee ball boy going rogue and deflating balls without the knowledge of anyone higher up. If this scenario occurs, it still won't matter in anyone else's eyes.
5. Judging by the responses in social media, we are guilty until proven innocent, and whatever happens tomorrow will not change any of the idiots' minds.
6. I enjoyed this win, but have a pit in my stomach, dreading every sports talk show, every conversation with fans of other teams at work, every little quote that comes out.
7. Yes, I am a little worried about this.

i find it mildly amusing

but my sense of humor is different

First-time poster, big-time Patriots fan. Looking forward to being here! As for my take on this topic:

I think this fizzle out and ultimately be much ado over nothing, but will end up providing more bulletin board material for this already inspired, hungry and tightly bonded team to rally around.

Not that they need any additional motivation, but Kravitz just dumped a lot of fuel on the proverbial fire. I expect to see them come out like rabid dogs against Seattle.

If it was the ball coming out of the half, I could maybe see someone trying to pull a cheeky fast one and slip a deflated ball in after the kickoff but again not sure how any of this could ever be proved or disproved.

Especially if refs are always in control of the balls. All refs can say is a ball was below regulation psi but how do you prove it wasn't just weather related or a defective ball or whatever.

I wonder if he will pay TMZ to look for visual evidence.
tmz is the nfls moral compass

Most likely it will end up being they put a Colts ball in instead of a Patriots ball. Each team has its own balls they work as they wish. Sometimes a team will get a ball from another team and they have to switch them. The ball guy could have sent the wrong one in and had to retrieve Patriots balls. Each team supplies the balls for their own offense and these are inspected by the Reffs before the game. I don't know who controls them after they are inspected, reffs? a NFL employee oir each team individually. I am sure we will all know soon enough though. Still might just have been a K ball as was reported. Kravitz's source could be all in his head like Tomasi's was.

I have to wonder if Deus has ever received a Dislike without immediately firing back with insults and name calling?

Has anyone other than this one guy said or heard anything?

Do the Colts use the same balls? They were throwing it more and the pats knew that would be the case going in.

So not sure that even makes logical sense if they both use the same balls.

At this point, Kraft should do /something/.
