Kravitz used to be a columnist for the Indianapolis Star. He now works for a television station there. And it was up to the officials to test the footballs.

If the league wants to take draft picks away from this officiating crew, I'm alright with that.

I guess the where and when is what the question would be

Let's hope not - but if the Pats somehow go the ball to the sideline, deflated it for when Brady had the ball - and Luck had a fully inflated one. Then #$@% - that's bad and I'm pissed.

Kravitz may be an Indy guy but he's also NOT a homer - he's been very critical of the team at times (as I know you know)

Damn - I hope there's nothing to this.

You seriously think this is what they were doing on the sideline in a AFCCG , deflating balls ? Balls are handled by the ball attendant by the way , not the team.

Guess who went to the commissioner and complained? You got it Peyton while he was playing for the colts. Now they deflate them and scuff them up before games.

Be fair. That was actually a Brady/Manning bipartisan effort.

So is it several or is it one?
How could we ever be I'm trouble when its the frickin refs job to weigh them!
As BB says
DO YOUR EFFING JOB!

The fact that Goodell didn't squash this baseless accusation from the first moment it came out proves he's an incompetent prick.
Goodell squashing accusations before they have even had time to look at said accusation would be incompetent. Even for something as stupid as this.

Who employs the ball attendant, SVN?

Most media personalities and idiot fans of other teams will fail to realize or speak of is that when the air is cold the air is also denser ( which leads to compressing) . Hence if you inflate these indoors where it's warm, then bring them outside the PSI will drop. This is also very evident when you look at the tire pressure gauge in your car and it shows when the air gets colder that all the tire pressures have dropped that's happening right now in my car and I'm getting a warning for all four even though I had them properly inflated to 36 PSI

How long does it take to look at 24 freaking footballs?

If deflated footballs are easier to throw and catch then why were there so many dropped passes and Brady was off on more than a few. The Gronk INT down the seam was way underthrown and so was another down the middle to Andelman.
Actually several Pats pass catchers just straight up dropped easy catches also

Florio, the one time lawyer, has already made a decision on all of this... Guilty as charged.

I could choke this guy..

Given the franchise’s history, that’s precisely what the league seems to be doing, sooner rather than later. Surely, the league office realizes the importance of a full investigation and complete transparency; those failures nearly brought down a Commissioner over a topic that had nothing to do with the playing of games. Anything other than a full and complete investigation of a situation that has an impact on the game could bring down the league.

Well, there's always some BS when the Pats win you guys should know by now they aren't allowed to win fair and square. There's always someone butthurt who can't take a loss on the chin.

Just woke up to this. This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Don't both teams play with the same ball ? So wouldn't it affect both QBs the same way (positively) ? There is no way either team can get MORE advantage over another team if the balls weren't inflated correctly. You know ESPN is loving this.

So was the long pass to Vereen which was wobbly and terribly underthrown yet he still made a great catch on it.
I think that pass was to JE and just like the Luck pass to Hilton

Don't both teams play with the same ball ?

No, they don't. Each team's offense has its own set of balls.

Each team's staff is given balls in the box. Each team's staff takes the balls out, scuffs them up (within limits and using approved means), inflates them, and gives them to the refs. The refs check the balls and the pressures and hans them over to the NFL-supplied ball attendant(s). The balls from each team are kept separated and each team uses their own.

If shenanigans were played (which I do not believe) it would have to be by someone getting into the ball room after the balls were handed over to the attendant and while the attendant isn't there, or switching balls behind the attendant's back on the sideline during the game.

A statement that says the refs control the balls and their inflation would be sufficient. And true.

Does anyone remember that moment (I think it was in the 3rd or 4th quarter) when the Pats has the ball and there was a long delay before they could snap it?

The Pats were called away once or twice from the LOS and there seemed to be some confusion. Finally the ref stepped in took the ball and threw it to the sideline and got another ball. It was an odd 45-50 seconds.

It could have been just one ball that somehow became deflated or warped.
Like most defective things these days ... the ball was probably "Made in China."

No. Each team has their own set of game balls.
