This is good because it sets the market for these moves. If Deebo is worth a 5th then Kupp is probably not worth more than a 4th, even assuming the Rams eat some of his salary.

I would be truly shocked if Vrabel thought that Samuel was the best use of $27M.

Yeah I’m listening to a 49ers live podcast and they’re dunking on him pretty good. Saying he hasn’t done anything special since he got paid.

I don't think it's a move the Patriots should of made, Deebo is not a player that's aging well he's a guy who has taken way more of a beating than a typical WR.

If i'm taking an older WR who's in his final years for some immediate impact i want more of a technician like Diggs or Kupp, Deebo is someone who has relied on athletic ability more than crisp route running.

Even though i don't love the idea of Kupp as much as i would have 3 years ago i would much prefer him to Deebo for the next 2 years.

He kinda fits their offense with a QB who can improvise a lot. Although Maye has shown some running abilities I believe they want to build a more traditional offense and I'm all for it.

We don’t know the dynamic here, I’m sure the 49ers tried to do right by the player who played a lot of meaningful football for them.

Anyone who signs Deebo is going to have to give him a new contract extension, and he’s going to be 30 years old. The 49ers weren’t getting a high draft pick for him in return, so if multiple teams offered similar compensation Deebo probably got to choose his landing spot.

Washington currently looks like a better landing spot and they need WR help. Either way, not sure paying Deebo was a smart move for the Pats, he doesn’t appear to have much tread left on his tires and they need a big vertical threat.

Deebo had one great season sandwiched between a guys who’s career is basically what Larry Centers was. And 21m+ plus and a guy who couldn’t catch 40% of the passes thrown his way

He’d be an intriguing pick 10 years ago when putting a slash type WR/FB hybrid on one of those classic Patriots teams could be a huge interruption but doesn’t move the needle one micropixel if he came to the Patriots and by week three we’d all be complaining about wasting money in FA
