It looks like we're seeing WR being a rehashing of the "throw everything at the wall" strategy they used at the TE position in 2009.
It works for the Chinese at the Olympics.

The Patriots hit a grand slam signing Carter and Anderson after training camp had started. Both provided very good production, it is unlikely to get two such impact players at bargain prices.

Of the two I would sign Anderson first (if the money makes sense), he is younger and Carter is a better candidate for the shadow roster.

Either way I hope the target 2 top 4 draft picks on the front seven.

Other ideas - all have their warts to be sure -
- Wimberly, Lawson

Long shot - Chris Long via trade, he has a monster cap number (over 18M) and is in his walk year.

I've wanted Allen to the Patriots for so long. He's exactly the type of dominant defensive player that would make an immediate impact. I'm just not sure how it gets done given the numbers.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Allen traded to a contender during draft weekend;
I just don't see that contender being the NEP.

i think we can throw around all the names who are our binkies.

but for me if Carter is healthy, last year proved that Carter and Anderson and more than capable of handling the rush linebacker duties. I especially was impressed (without re-looking at film) with Anderson at the end of the season.

Re-Sign those 2 and I am honestly happy with our roster going into next season... whatever happens in the draft will be gravy.

Ehh I feel like there's not much out there (FA) wise that is. Since we've been noticeably been working on our offense this offseason we should use most of our draft picks on defense and maybe like 1 wr we can develope.

Julian Edelman could play the Willie McGinest Elephant role.

If the Vikes move Allen he saves them CAP space and dollars.....And the biggest part of the deal,

they have a first rounder late to go get Wallace from the Steelers who everyone knows they can't match $

Of course to sign Wallace they would have to give up their own or higher pick, can't give up a pick lower than your own.

As you said, I think Anderson is the one with more upside due to age etc. I don't really see them signing him though, as I think the other teams will pay more than what the NEP see his value at. Of course I hope that I am wrong.

That brings us to Carter. I can't see any reason why Carter will not be signed to a low deal for another yr. Both sides should have some type of interest.

That gives us 1 out of the 2.

They may target another low level FA/team cut in the late spring/summer again, along with at least one, if not two front seven draft picks this yr.

It's hard to imagine that the front seven is not an area of demand and I feel that it will be addressed this upcoming draft.
