It’s amazing how important communication is in life. I think that’s the *true* BB differentiator. Lots of coaches are creative, have exotic game plans, etc. But you keep hearing from players how BB is able to break everything down to 3-4 things the player can easily understand, and how that’s different from others. The most brilliant minds are often horrible teachers. When you get someone who is up there in football IQ but is “Oh captain my captain!” level of teacher, that’s when you can really get results.

And it explains why the BB coaching tree has sucked. He has people who are just as smart as him on his staff as assistants, but ultimately can’t really teach their players as HC, so the players don’t succeed, and then the players stop buying into their old-school coaching tactics.

So far, both QBs sound highly flawed. I still think the WR/TE upgrades should go a long way for team success.

The takeaways that Mac is outperforming Newton in 7 v 7s & shorts & shells is he has to adjust to the speed of the game.

Considering the latter is up to 5 INTs at practice I think it’s time to give the rookie more first team reps.
