Does he have a big dead money hit? I would assume so
Yeah, he's scheduled to have a $15.3M cap hit next year. If cut, $7M would be dead money, $8.3M savings.

i don't think he will move to safety. His best asset is man coverage. It was basically their super bowl, I wonder how long before Revising moves to safety
I would still take him back in a second for cheap money if they cut him.Yeah, he's scheduled to have a $15.3M cap hit next year. If cut, $7M would be dead money, $8.3M savings.
Using Revis to replace Logan Ryan? Yeah, would do that in a heartbeat. But I don't think they'll cut him that early.I would still take him back in a second for cheap money if they cut him.
He's 31, so he should be expected to lose a step. It just shows how idiotic the Jets were/are to give him that contract.

It was definitely not that. Revis had man in green and got toasted. From what I saw on one of the halftime highlight shows, it looked like Revis came over after another DB lost Green - and since he was closest at the goal line the initial reaction was that Revis got beat. Could be wrong and I'd have to re-watch, but regardless

I disagree. It think it was a very good move for the Jets. They won the off-season Super Bowl again that year.
That contract was hilarious the day it was printed. It was pretty clear that they opened negotiations by handing him a blank check and crooning "pleeeease!"
What's sad in retrospect is the huge fine and loss of draft picks the Jets incurred from the league for tampering when they signed him.
Oh, wait...
Winning the bidding war that the Pats had pretty much elected not to participate in is the most meaningful Jets 'win' in about 5 years.
