Darnold injured (Patriots play Panthers next week)

Panthers can (not always, but sometimes) win with McCaffrey and no QB. Hopefully we shut him down.

I'd rather face Darnold than an unknown. This team is so deeply in Darnold's head, he'd probably see Gilmore out there even though Gilmore is on his team now.
After the Davis Mills incident (he has not looked remotely close to as good as he did against us ever since), yeah.

If McCaffrey plays, mentally prepare yourself to see whoever is at QB make some plays we don't think they "should" make. The gameplan is going to be:

A) Stop CMC from running.
B) Stop CMC from catching.
C) Stop CMC from running after the catch.
D) Stop CMC from running, catching, or running after the catch.
Q) Stop the rest of the Panthers passing attack.

I know Christian is more than a handful but their defense is nothing to not talk about. They had some injuries there as well but they can defend and be very physical. I'm glad Darnold is out. He's had some good games earlier this year, until the Philly game. And remember the days when some on here wanted to sign PJ Walker?

They've been good this year on D. They haven't played a murderer's row of good offenses, but they've taken care of business when they should. Dallas is the best offense they've faced, and they gave up 36. After that maybe Minnesota, and they gave p 28 in regulation. Saints are decent now but they played them in week 2 when they were very inconsistent. Still, it's not like our offense has been the model of consistency itself, so I expect it to be a low scoring game overall.

Watching it again, the defender led with his helmet. That's unacceptable. Hope that Sam Darnold will be ok long term.

As for the Carolina game, the Pats are really hitting their stride, this ups our odds of going 5-4 for sure without Darnold behind center.

Should we assume he'll be 100%?

If I were the DC? Yes, until he shows you he's not. I don't want to wait to be down 10 points because I assumed McCaffrey wouldn't be effective, and instead chose to focus my attention on Robby Anderson. DJ Moore needs to be accounted for as well.

His injury is Halloween related.

Side note: How awkward must it be filming these video shorts for graphics like these (I know this one is fake, but in general). Like, "Hey Sam, I want you to stand to the side, look like you want to either f**k us, kill us, or perhaps both, then point like you're confirming yes... yes it's YOU I want to f**k/kill. Then go down to studio B where you'll film a commercial for the United Way."
