His comments seem pretty fair to me, that's how we all saw it even before the season started. Matty P and Joe Judge running an offense that we never ran before? lol, ya ok.... What happened was predictable and was predicted, right here.

This was a better argument before we saw the Bill O'Brien offense in 2023

The Bill O’Brien offense was a lot of the same. Yes, they brought in a competent OC, but they forced a coaching staff on him that he didn’t want including an o-line coach who was trying to build an o-line to play in a way contrary to how O’Brien wanted to run the offense. And Belichick still refused to build talent around the QB position.

Respect to Harris for calling out the obvious. Belichick either intentionally sabotaged the team or made an unconscionable series of errors over the course of multiple years at the end of his Patriots' tenure. Can't believe Brady put up with him for so long. We're damn lucky he did.

How is it everyone but Belichick could foresee the disaster of Patricia/Judge running the offence
Intentional sabotage will always be in the back of my mind because of just how bad it got. Everyone saw it coming months ahead of time when Judge and Patricia were hired. Slow motion trainwreck would be putting it lightly.

We all saw this happening in front of our eyes, but what's new, at least to me, is the description of how team leaders went to Belichick with their concerns only to be blown off.

That to me is the worst thing I heard about Bill's demise. It really seals the deal that he lost it.

I feel like this Mayo lead Team is going play so good we are going so say the unthinkable BB who??

I am glad Mac is gone. We were going nowhere with him. In fact Bill did a Patriots a solid hiring Patricia he just saved this franchise multiple years in this rebuild.

thank you Bill for saving us from Mac Jones.

Damn, that’s pretty bad. 2022 would have gotten basically anyone else fired. I feel like we were correct giving him one last shot since he is the GOAT, and then enough was enough.

Not gona necro my old thread but I wrote something up about sabotage a while ago and I think it rings true even more now.

Hubris.

Belichick has always had a belief that football coaches are football coaches, and while he can stand on a factual basis for that argument, believing it’s true at that level of complexity is foolish. Belichick can certainly make the case that coaches move from offense to defense to special teams and back all the time, but believing your defensive coordinator can be your offensive coordinator, without a few years preparing for that is pure hubris.

I doubt Belichick was trying to lose while running out of time for the wins record. I think arrogance and obstinance were the more likely factors.

I was wondering about that but Julian's Games With Names with Matt Light changed my view on it. It was pretty obvious from their comments that Bill favored the defense when coaching. Maybe he just concentrated too much on the defense and let the offense fall apart.
