Daboll interviewing for Bama OC

I agree he did nothing special elsewhere but he never had a good QB. If we use that same logic we must hope Josh never becomes HC here.
Well you know I've always kind of cherished a hidden hope that all those rumors that BB was actually an android were true...

Daboll has 5 Super Bowl rings. He did a great job with tight ends for the team. Can't knock him for having zero talent at his past OC pro jobs. By that same standard, for those bashing Daboll, Josh McDaniels had Sam Bradford, Steven Jackson and Amendola in St Louis and had the worst (32nd) offense in the entire league. Good for Daboll

Amendola played just 2 game that year.
Bradford played just 10 games that year, and played injured (high ankle sprain) most of the time he was on the field.
The Rams receiving corps was so bad that they traded for Brandon LLoyd after week 6, and his 51 catches in 11 games was 16 more than the next highest total for a WR on that team.

Daboll's been garbage, and it's my fervent hope that someone else catches BB's eye for the 'backup' O.C. position now that Daboll's in Alabama.

Not a coincidence that the Pats won 3 rings when Daboll was here 2000-2006. Then he comes back and the team, with O'Brien, have a resurgence in tight end play from 2010-2017 including 2 more rings. The Pats rings have all come with Daboll here and none when he wasn't here.
Again- neither Daboll or McDaniels have done much without Brady. Stop bashing Daboll while having a million excuses for why McDaniels was horrible in St Louis, drafted Tebow with a first round pick, drafted and also traded for Maroney, and blew a high pick on Chad Jackson. Daboll has a good opportunity and the hate towards him is idiotic

This seems like a no-brainer for him. Look at his history:

He starts out as a graduate assistant working for Saban. Then he works for the Patriots from 2000-2006, learning from the best pro football coach in the game. Then he strikes out on his own, and is OC for the Browns, Dolphins, and KC from 2007-2012, and he doesn't really light the world on fire at any of those places. Then, back to school with the Patriots from 2013-2017, another stint with the best pro football coach in the game, but as a TE coach instead of a OC, a major step down from his previous positions.

Now he becomes OC for Alabama under Saban, the best college football coach in the game and the guy he started out with. Talk about burnishing up your resume! A year or two as Alabama OC, maybe a national championship. Seems to me like he would be pretty hot property for either college or the pros after that with his experience under BB and Saban, no? I could see many teams interested, maybe even the Pats at some point down the road.

Yes and it's good for him. Seems real petty to try to trash Daboll. All 5 Pats rings have been with Daboll on the staff

Yes, it is. The Patriots went 16-0 without him in 2007. Brady was lost for the season in 2008, still coming back in 2009, and had a bad game in the 2010 playoffs, after a 14-2 regular season. The Patriots got back to the Super Bowl in 2011. Daboll has been a non-issue.

Or is it your position that Brady would not have been injured in that 2007 playoff game against the Chargers, and the defense would have been better (and Gronk would have been healthy) in 2011, if Daboll had been on the team?

You're the one who cited to the players in St. Louis, and who pointed to it as an example of McDaniels having a rough time. I just responded to that citing by showing how misleading your comment had been.

I wish Daboll all the best. I just wish it for him somewhere outside of Gillette.
