Five things to remember: Pats 41, Dolphins 14

obviously the most interesting for the people
3. MOSS' STAT SHEET DISAPPEARANCE

For the first time since November of 2006 when he was with the Raiders, and for just the third time in his career, Randy Moss was held without a catch. He only had one ball thrown his way -- a fake spike bullet near the end of the half that he almost made a remarkable catch on. Despite that, he wasn't downtrodden in the locker room after.

I mentioned to him that he must have run about two miles in total. "I'm 33, man, haven't lost a step," he said.

Moss lamented the would-be touchdown catch. "I should have caught it. Hit my hands. It would have been a good catch but I should have caught it."

Watching the play from above, the throw was a back-shoulder timing throw that Moss barely had a chance to locate yet still almost hauled in. "I didn't have much time to locate it but Tom [Brady] is always so on-point with his throws that you know it's going to be there."

If there's speculation that Moss either A) dogged it or B) was pissed because of a lack of attempts . . . we weren't watching the same game.

The national media gets it. I don't understand why our fans/writers don't. Randy Moss presence makes a lot of the short stuff possible. He doesn't have to catch 10 balls to have a good game. If he requires a double team. He's worth his weight in gold.

Exactly.

I hope Wes Welker, Kevin Faulk, the TEs, and anyone else who catches passes underneath gives Randy a big christmas present every year.

Moss probably had two to three defenders within five yards of him all game, thus as we know, opening things up for other pass catchers. I'm glad he didn't sound pissed off or grouchy, at least according to Tom E. Curran (drop the E at your own peril ).
I'm sure Felger and his midget sidekick will have some negative slant on yesterday's game. I'm waiting for it...dbags, both of them

Besides, it's not like the offense had a ton of drives during the game.

It will be interesting to see if the double and triple teaming keeps up because it's hard to see lesser defenders being adequate against Tate, Hernandez, Gronk, and The Wood

True that. The team scored 35 points with about 5:20 in possession time and 17 plays from scrimmage in the second half --the vast majority of which were during the long drive in the 3d quarter.

The game is about the most statistically odd imaginable. When you touch the ball with possession 9 times total (not counting the final run-the-clock out possession) in the game and have about 260 or 270 return yards in the game, there's just not all that much opportunity or field for the offense to accumulate yardage.

As great as this game was I keep thinking back to the Bengals game where it would have been a close match if not for the special teams TDs. Same goes for last night... Can we really keep owning on special teams from week to week? We are going to have to step it up on 3rd down and all around defensivley. The offense is great though. They don't need to change.

Thats a hollow concern though.
You are saying it would have been close if we didnt score 4 times on D aqnd special teams (2 plays after blocked punt) but that would assume we did nothing with those 4 possessions.
Of course the game is close if we forfeit the 4 possessions we didnt get because we scored on D or s/ts.
Take away all of those points and its 14-13 then we get the ball 4 straight possessions. Still think it would have been close?
