Ted W was going to be cut. BB had a buddy relationship with the Chicago owner so he gave him to us for a fourth, (I believe).

Corey was a risk the Pats usually don't take. If his attitude etc. wasn't a question mark, he was worth a first maybe.

They took a calculated risk and it worked out IMO.

Man did this thread go off topic!

I don't know why everyone's so quick to discount a trade.

Last year BB very much wanted Derrick Mason, recognizing that his WR corps could use an infusion of talent.

The only thing that's changed from this year to last is that Branch is a year closer to the end of his contract, and our #2 receiver is a FA.

Aside from Givens there's not a lot in FA, and the draft looks weak. If we want a WR a trade might be the way to go - and we've already got plenty of 3,4,5,6 WRs - we need a #2 or #1B
I keep remembering a report that Jason Babin was on the Pats' radar when he came out of college and pondering Kubiak's shift to a 4-3 in Houston....

Uno Cervasa (phonetically speaking) translates just fine in those heathen lands.

scpatboy, I can see what you're saying and it's a possbility, hell everything is a possibility. Funny though how everyone that responded to your post has to act like a pompous I KNOW EVERYTHING PATRIOTS jerk.

Redeemer overly lashed out here, but the truth IS somewhere in the middle. A legitimate speculation (i.e., it's not impossible) that a big deal MIGHT be in the works, was met with numerous sarcastic replies. No big deal when the replies are humorous and good-natured, but some take sarcasm more personally than others.

P.S. It's a little harder to use Washington as the archetype of a clueless franchise after they made the playoffs, dumped bigmouth Arrington, and signed classy Fauria. Hopefully they go back in the toilet this year.

Only one man has ever had the right to call me son, and you are not even close to his caliber.
I don't know you, and I don't ever need to, I can just tell exactly what kind of person you are by reading your posts, just like alot of the other pats fans who have come to infiltrate this fine forum over the last few yrs. I am not going to point any fingers. If you feel like I am accusing YOU while you read this then you're probably right. ALOT of self rightous let's slam down anybody with a creative thought "cause that aint how the pats do it" schmoes.
You live out your life loving your team but only cause they make YOU feel better about yourself. People like you can often be found sitting around day dreaming about yourself hanging out with BB and Pioli over an Ice cold Sam Adams talking about us poor sad LITTLE fans who should be following the REDSKINS cuz they are exciting. Unlike you, the REAL FAN since day 1.
I don't care what INSIDER books some of you may read on how the pats do it. Hell, we have all read those same books, and just cause some of us think out side of the norm a little bit, there's something wrong with us. we're not "Real pats fans". Alright, I honestly don't care that much and wasn't going to post anymore on the matter. We each have our own views and that's what makes it soooo much fun. However, calling me son really PISSED me off and my first feeling was that if I saw you in person I would kick your a**.
However, after taking a deep breath.....(sigh) I have calmed down. After all, I am sure that is why you said it. To disrespect me and belittle me. It worked and good job pops! :eat3:

PWP...is this your kid?

Don't know if he is any good...but he is a tweener. D-end/linebacker.
