Trump is panicking
He’s panicking because

1. He didn’t think as President he might have to face a real national crisis and make hard decisions

2. Every expert is telling him to do one thing and his rich leeches are seeing there bank accounts go down a bit and they are miserable that they only have 400x the wealth of the average Americans as opposed to 500x. So as you can see he’s in a real tight place...

Idiot already had someone die for taking his medical advice. He’s going to get people killed so his friends stock portfolio can increase. And by increase, I mean not really increase at all because there’s a global ****ing pandemic

The virus doesn’t take holidays off.

THat's why he said we'll see what happens over the next few weeks. It's probably overly optimistic in my view, but let the numbers play out.

Um, Trump did not tell anyone to take chlorequine without medical supervision. That's just dishonest.

I agree we can’t try this until we can all get tested every week. Otherwise it won’t work.

But if we can get to that point, I think it’s the way to go

I think the paragraph below is important to understand. In most young & healthy people, the virus dies within a day or two.

“The data from South Korea, where tracking the coronavirus has been by far the best to date, indicate that as much as 99 percent of active cases in the general population are “mild” and do not require specific medical treatment. The small percentage of cases that do require such services are highly concentrated among those age 60 and older, and further so the older people are. Other things being equal, those over age 70 appear at three times the mortality risk as those age 60 to 69, and those over age 80 at nearly twice the mortality risk of those age 70 to 79.”
Although very useful we need to be careful over So Korea data. First, the virus has mutated and very little is known about it, but here it is affecting more younger people than anywhere else (albeit still smaller). Also, I read the population in So Korea is much older than in the US.

That's what you said a week ago, and now that the numbers are playing out and proving your initial assumptions wrong, you kick the can down the road.

Full of sh*t.

Maybe I did, but experts are now saying social distancing takes at least 2 weeks to see the results. I'm not panicking like you are. I have more faith in this country. I'm willing to give this more time.

It's far from clear it is "affecting more younger people than anywhere else".

Yes, proportionally more are being hospitalized, but that could well be because more of them have been "whee! I'm invulnerable" morons while older people have been holing themselves up, and so enough more of the younger people have caught it that even though their hospitalization rate is lower the absolute numbers are higher.

@Ice_Ice_Brady apparently has been iced for this thread. I haven't heard from him all day, yet he keeps clicking on emojis on my posts.

Um, Trump did not tell anyone to take chlorequine without medical supervision. That's just dishonest.

When the president refers to a certain drug as a "miracle" cure despite the advisement of medical experts in his administration, and when someone who listened to Trump's "miracle" cure speech takes said drug and dies, yes, the president is (in part) responsible for that death and it's dishonest to suggest otherwise.

And yet your fearless leader wants to end meaningful social distancing in barely over two weeks, against basically all expert medical advice, whether or not it works, and whether or not we have the testing capability and human resources to do massive testing and tracing. Winning bigly!

So it's the President's fault if someone took a pill that was meant for cleaning fish tanks? Really? You NEVER take a drug without medical supervision unless it's over the counter stuff.

Deflect, divert, deny facts and data, move the goalposts, change your claims, misrepresent the claims of others, invoke some patriotic BS, kick the can down the road.

As I said: full of sh*t.

I'm not going to accuse you of being xenophobic (I have no idea). However, we did have this discussion earlier in the thread over him calling it coronavirus when there were reports of asians being harrassed.

You along with several others blasted me because virus originated in China, and downplayed the harrassment. I dropped it recognizing the distraction that it was.

I recently linked an article showing how asians are buying guns like crazy to shoot people that threaten them. All of a sudden, Trump comes out no longer using coronavirus and saying he loves all asians and it's not their fault. Asians are all in; they own guns, Prez now loves them. Lmao

Let me start off my saying I will not deny that you got blasted by other posters (I do not remember if you were or not). That being said I feel that you are mistaken by clumping me into that potential group. The "worst" thing I remember saying to you was that you were trolling by calling it Trump Virus. my thought process was that You were looking for a reaction/to prove a point. I actually thought it was kind of funny.

I looked through my post history and I did not find anything where I directly responded to you about that matter (maybe I missed something).

I was thinking more along the lines of the best thing he had to run on is tanking and who knows what it will look like come November. Now hes trying his best to save it and he does not realize he is just going to make it worse. Of course there is a base that will never vote for him (probably very large base) but even if we are in a recession, he can win in November if he plays his cards right here. I totally disagree with relaxing the social distancing stuff. That being said if continues to **** **** up I might have to sit November out.

So it's the President's fault if someone took a pill that was meant for cleaning fish tanks? Really? You NEVER take a drug without medical supervision unless it's over the counter stuff.

When the president touts said drug as a potential "miracle" cure for COVID on live television, and removes the medical professional urging caution from the room, yes, you're damn right it's his fault.

Not sure. I'm in central MA. The SD my niece and nephew are in is a rock-solid SD. Well run. High % kids going on to 4yr schools. Technically advanced but yet they are doing nothing to educate these kids.

Well thats beyond shocking. The state needs to get on that

Overly optimistic is being overly optimistic. It's entirely unrealistic.

We'll see how things are. Maybe the President is hopeful to give us a gift of relaxing things for an important holiday.
Yea because hope and prayer always trumps science in the middle of a pandemic. These aren't the Dark Ages dude.
