So is this an appropriate way of judging Trump's psychological condition?
I do believe Stalin to have been a psychopath. However, when people were coming up with psychology-based theories about Trump, it was said over and over again that you cannot evaluate any patient without being properly trained and examining that patient.
I'm not trying to give Stalin a break with the joke, I'm trying to give The Truth a break. Which is it? Can you or can't you tell a world leader is a psycho without examining him? Because if it's good for the goose it's good for the gander.
By the way, how did you miss that this was a joke and respond so bizarrely humorlessly? Or did you get it? Seriously, did you read that post and not see that while rooted in fact, it was intended to be humor, albeit cutting humor?
It's true that I think our response has been a comedy of errors, and possibly a tragedy of intentional worsening of conditions.
However, the particular joke about being able to tell Stalin was a psycho without examining him had much more to do with the double standard we apply to our own present-day occupant of the oval office.
Be that as it may, we're all in this together 13. Take care of you and yours, and live to one day stop being wrong all the time my brotha
What if you kill fear w/liquid courage? Come on now, do you want sobriety or do you want fearlessness?
We're all in this together... I'm of the "whatever gets you through the night" opinion.
I'm only waiting for him to call the election off in November because it's a large public gathering -- or a prior enthusiastic use of emergency powers to perpetuate himself in power.
Pretty fair post. "We have only anecdotal evidence" is what he said, followed by words to the effect of "He just hopes it would work, I am waiting for clinical approvals."
I am not sure he'd be getting planequil if he got the virus, because it being safe for Malaria is not it being safe for COVID-19. I had a headache. I took an aspirin. I felt better. I have a blockage. I take a daily aspirin. It thins the blood. I feel better. I have a ulcer. I take an aspirin. I bleed out. See how that works? He's just saying, check on how planequil combines with COVID-19 before you end up killing people you're trying to cure, and while you're at it, get some data on whether or not it
works.
The main thing is, chances are that about half of us WILL get this virus. So we should nut up and realize that much.
The next piece is, try not to get it, and therefore, spread it at a greatly reduced rate.
The last piece is, we're emerging from this plague a changed nation. We came out of 9/11 changed, we came out of the 2007-8 collapse changed, and we're coming out of this bio-plague changed. How we'll change is up for grabs. For the second time in a generation, though, the government is going to have to directly intervene and support the broad economy.
I think any of you who are really really concerned about the terrible terrible socialism of social security or medicare need to check what happens when we elect Republicans LOL... and more to the point, what Republicans do when faced with the necessity of a command economy.
"America will never be a socialist country." Okay, are you saying it's a fascist country, and you changed your mind, fascism is NOT a form of socialism? Or what? Because I am hearing from POTUS about how the nation will have to own certain industries. What the hell, last time we bought this big-ass insurance company, a piece of the banks for a little while, and Chrysler until Sergio Marchioni (sp) took it off our hands.
Right now is a weird moment, where we are thinking about the crash and thinking about the disease spread, and assuming everything would be fiiiiiiine once it's all straightened out again.
I'm sure it will be, but it'll be different (again.)
Found your 3-cornered hat yet, teabaggers? How about your pocket constitution? I know you're all up in arms about the right to free assembly being trampled! Wait what's that you say? They didn't have 21st-century epidemiology when they wrote that, no countsies?
What a joke that movement turned out to be.
