Congratulations to Mr. Peyton Manning on winning this seasons MVP

It's week 8 and this is the stuff you guys are getting worked up about?

Anybody who had illusions of winning "Comeback Player of the Year" can abandon them though, as that is clearly going to Peyton, and, probably, rightly so.

Adrian Peterson, the NFL's leading rusher, might take issue with that.

Honestly, I think TB would much rather be receiving the MVP that will be given in New Orleans on February than the one that's given for the regular season. But I digress, a QB will probably win the award, but I would very much like to see a guy like JJ Watts win it. Honestly, the last time a defensive player won the award was (I think?) 1986.

Sure I do, it even has a name: Tom Brady.

My God, man! Clearly, you're a few quarts low on Kool-Aid! You go right to Foxboro and ask Mr. Belichick and Mr. Kraft to set up an IV for you right away!

We can't have thinking like that around here! Straighten up and Fly Right or pack your bags!

Denver's schedule the rest of the way is super easy. Baltimore is the only team left with a winning record and with their injuries you have to question what they'll be going forward.

Sun 11/4 at Cincinnati 3-4

Sun 11/11 at Carolina 1-6

Sun 11/18 San Diego Chargers 3-4

Sun 11/25 at Kansas City 1-6

Sun 12/2 Tampa Bay 3-4

Thu 12/6 at Oakland 3-4

Sun 12/16 at Baltimore 5-2

Sun 12/23 Cleveland 2-6

Sun 12/30 Kansas City 1-6

That's a pretty pathetic group and I can see Denver running the table. If they go 13-3 there's zero chance they don't give it to him. The only hope is there's some bad weather and Peyton stinks it up like he always has in the muck.

"Taking issue" with giving an award to Peyton hasn't worked all that well in the past. Just sayin'.

Yo. It's a Bye Week. Someone started a thread about the Fumbles the Pats have recovered this year. What do you expect?

We are only 8 games into the season and the MVP has already been decided i.e Peyton Manning. These days no matter which sports show you listen to everybody seems to have already crowned Peyton as the MVP......... I mean he is a great QB blah blah blah but crowning the MVP 8 games into the season ????

Peter king had made up his mind on the MVP the day Peyton signed with the Broncos
Saint Dungy .... well he will call Peyton the MVP even after Peyton retires

Two people whom i have not heard call Peyton this years MVP are Rob 'Packer' who in my humble opinion is the worst sports writer/host ever. As per him the only MVP is Rodgers. And the other person is Skip "Tebow" Bayless.

The Broncos have a great team this year no doubt, Their defense is one of the best in the NFL their defense is playing at the same level they did with Tebow at the helm. So far they have beaten the Steelers,Raiders,Chargers and Saints.

Lets face it other than the Steelers none of the teams they have beaten are even going to end up with a winning record this year. The Broncos got their collective asses kicked by the Texans,Falcons and the Pats.

I find it surprising that when Peyton has been less spectacular than Eli,Matt Ryan and Adrian Peterson how is he the unanimous MVP ?

Knowing we have a Head to Head win over them all we have to do is keep winning so we can stay ahead of them and possibly receiving that other Bye-Week. The Broncos as getting better and better every week.

He is lock for the MVP unless denver implodes. Media loves the mannings and the whole family very media savvy. Everyone in the media wants to give manning the awards. Remember before the Saints SB everyone was ready to crown him the greatest ever ?

WW's name should be thrown in the mix.

That was sickening. It boggles my mind how can any sane person put Peyton Manning at the same level as Joe Montana, or even Brady. Seriously. He'd have to win 2 more Superbowls in DOMINANT fashion to even be in the conversation for greatest ever, since in the year he won, he had the worst postseason performance OF ALL TIME of ANY quarterback to win the Lombardi. The Colts defense and Dominic Rhodes absolutely carried him to that title. He only played well in the second half against the Patriots, in a game where we started Eric Alexander at ILB.

I can never forget that season especially the pre SB hype of Peyton being the greatest ever and then after the game losing INT by Manning everyone went into hiding till this season........ If it would have been Brady in place of Manning ppl would have said look who he has won against Raiders,Chargers (who cannot win against the Browns )....... Sometimes the Peyton Ball washing by the media gets too ridiculous

Right now it SHOULD be JJ Watt,he has elevated his play even higher without Cushing leading the front 7 of the Texans

If the second half of the season plays out like the first half and Manning gets the MVP award, it will show what kind of a joke the award is and the media bias towards Manning. He is certainly a contender for the prize, but he isn't #1 or even #2 in my eyes. I would put his brother and Matt Ryan over him. Possibly Brady.

People forget that the Broncos were 8-8 with a gimmick QB in Tebow who was incapable of putting up even 20 PPG last year. The Broncos had a pretty good defense, running game (even without Tebow), o-line, and receiving corp without Manning. All they were missing was a QB to put them in the hunt for the Super Bowl. Against good teams this year, Manning had painfully slow starts that allowed the opposing team to get a huge lead and then Manning padded his stats when the game was already virtually out of hand.

Manning will win Comeback Player of the Year (although I would argue that Adrian Peterson may deserve it more), but at this point I don't think he deserves MVP.

The thing I don't get is that people (nationally) are touting Manning's performance against a horrible defense in the Saints and glossing over Brady's performance against a far superior defense in the Rams. People also seem to forget the Broncos defense held Brees to one of his worst games of the season and shutting down Brees is much tougher than shutting down Bradford.

This.......... If Peyton wins this award , which seems very possible right now he should be ashamed, His brother is more deserving than him of that award right now among other players, AP is the sole reason Vikings have been able to score and win games and he gets hit on every play Manning is a QB who is protected by the OL and doesnt take the same amount of hits, i am pretty sure a few hard hits from ppl like Suugs will change his mind about playing any more

Think how happy those WR in Denver must feel going from Tebow to Manning night and day. They are a nice young Offense and Manning can only make them better i am happy for him and them. That said i want Brady to be hoisting one throphy at the end of the year and we all know what that one is.

Brady loses two SuperBowls in which he came back from a deficit and had his team ahead with 3 minutes to go and everybody jumps to say he isn't clutch anymore, can't close out games, has lost his magic, etc. Manning has a 10 point lead in the first quarter, blows it, then throws a pick-6 while driving to tie the score, and caps it off turning the ball over on downs, and hardly anyone dares to speak about that game. The Colts were the better team, the Colts were favored, they started the game on fire, and Manning blew it. It's that simple.

Someone on this forum had said something very wise a few months back in a reply to one of my questions as to y all the Praise for Peyton and hate for Brady

I dont remember the exact wording of the post but it basically said that Manning was gr8 in college and was a first round pick so it is expected of him and teams dont mind losing to him but ppl hate losing to Brady as he is a 7th round pick and wasnt supposed to be all that gr8 when he was drafted

Funny part is...when manning was with the colts, everyone made excuses for him saying he has no defense and is carrying the team- not to mention its their offense which failed them in all playoff losses. Right now brady is carrying a team with poor defense but still its manning who is making the big difference in denver. They just cant wait to give him the trophy since they couldnt last yr. I hope he wins its. MVPs havent had good luck with winning it all recently.
