Didn't make the trip to Denver, but made it to the Celtic's game,tonite.....strange

Is he supposed to stay home and pout if the coaching and medical staff already ruled him out?

Bring on the conspiracies! Chung's heart and head obviously aren't in the game! He hates his coach!

If we get a first-round bye, he has another month to get healthy. Wishing the best for a guy who always plays hard.

Salient point. Only concern there is that by being out so long, there is some game-speed action that you simply cannot replicate in practice.

A divisional game is not the ideal circumstance for a player's 1st game back in almost 3 months.

injured players never travel with the team. they aren't on the sidelines. not even home games. not even unit captains (law 04, Harrison 06, brady 08). its just the way Bill runs the program.

the only exception is the SB.

i get a chuckle out of this. I'm not sure a divisional game is the ideal circumstance for Slater to be starting in either.

Any reason why Bill does that?

BTW, K Faulk was on the sidelines last year.

I love tough guy posts about how a professional football player is made out of glass. Especially from message board tough guys who have no knowledge of medical reports, doctor's prognoses, X-rays, MRIs, etc. We should believe you tough guys know more than those professional people with access to medical reports, doctor's prognoses, X-rays, MRIs, etc. Hey, we're all frustrated when guys are out longer than we think they should be. But, honestly, you need to do better than that to be taken seriously. Come back when Kindergarten recess is over.

You have no knowledge to know if I am a "tough guy" or not. Clearly you do not have access to my medical reports, doctor's prognoses, X-rays, MRIs, etc. I suggest you come back when KinderCare recess is over .. :bricks:

I have no medical knowledge to back this up, but I have heard this talked about a few times each year in the media. If a player has an injury, especially some time of swelling, travel in an airplane can make things much worse because the altitude allows it to swell up even more. I believe Denver is the highest altitude location for NFL games. If this theory is correct then the flight and sideline in Denver are the two worst places for Chung's injury to recover.

I remember them talking about this on the NFL Network earlier in the year when the center for our hated rival in NYC didn't make the trip to Oakland because of an ankle injury.

I hope you didn't expend a Friday night composing that clever rejoinder...

Is it me or do you guys think Chung is either out for the year or they are holding him out until the playoffs?

thoughts

Tough to get a gauge since the team is so cryptic with injury information...

but if I had to wager I would say they are holding him out till the playoffs or perhaps the last game of the regular season, if he is healthy enough, just to get his conditioning and bearings back towards game-shape (or close enough to it) before the postseason.

The safety position as a unit has been a disappointment this season, due in large part to bad play and injuries, of course, and I hope upgrades via free agency and/or the draft are not too far behind.

I'm sure that we'll see some kind of moves at the position for sure.

Even though they may not be the ones that we 'want,' I don't think there's any choice.

Do you expect him to stay locked in his house if he isnt recovered enough from his injury to play? Would going to the movies be allowed?

Apparently Slater remains a better option as our #3 safety than an injured Chung.

Congratulations for a reasoned, rational conclusion. God, we could use more of those. Thank you.

Don't ask God for anything this week. He is against us tomorrow, didn't you hear?

It's frustrating because 3 weeks ago chung was doing pregame warmups..and still hasn't gotten on the field..i think at this point he may be out the whole year..including spikes

I've been telling everyone that will listen that he's going to end up on the IR. Maybe a subconscious reverse-jinx.

Hope you're right here, PJ. He's a liability in coverage, but he helps our run defense more than anyone else in the secondary.

Kevin was on the sidelines at gillette or at road games?

the rule i believe is only that the injured/out dont TRAVEL.
