Chung cocaine indictment?

Whaaat...upstate NH cops don't arrest someone even though just a small amount? Not the NH I remember.
Bring all the fireworks, booze, and guns you want. No Drugs. Drugs are bad, mkay?

If as reported, a) Chung was not home b) others were at the residence after he left c) they found the cocaine in plain view while investigating the alarm...I think they will have a hard time proving the cocaine was his beyond a reasonable doubt UNLESS.... one of the other people (see newspaper link above) arrested decides to cut a deal and rat him out claiming to have sold him cocaine, whether true or not to reduce their own punishment...

Remind me not to invite you to my next 3 day cocaine binge party

You know Michael Bolton?

Regards,
Chris

Wouldn't be the first time... Go after the big fish...make a name for yourself especially true for elected prosecutors...or those with political ambitions..

I watched Making a Murderer and it looked like a small fish and a very small fish got hooked by a prosecutor and are now doing life for a crime they didn't commit.

This prosecutor had a record of 50-0 going in. I'm not involved with law, but how the heck does that happen? Does he get all slam dunks or are his methods that effective? In this case the prosecutor played the media to perfection and had a pool of guilty verdicts waiting for the trial.

Federal prosecutors win about 97% of the time because they will throw multiple charges at a defendant and they choose to take a plea for one of the lesser charges rather than risk a millennium in jail.

Everybody Pat Chung tonight..

Love Chung, but shame on him during Gordon era/rookies coming in.

I say 2-4 game suspension. Chungs a good dude. Hoping they don't cut him.

Meredith, NH. Last year on the way to Maine, I somehow got lost in this town. I inadvertently broke a couple of traffic laws, and wasn't ticketed, but the cop sure seemed serious. I have no doubt these guys would arrest (esp a black man--known or not) for possession of a small amount of cocaine. (I must say if I had run into Patrick Chung there, I would have been a-mazed three times over--and would have definitely felt more at home there)
You broke two laws, didn’t get ticketed, and therefore you have no doubt Meredith cops would go heavy on a black man?

What? Chung arrested for ? cocaine on a table?? KILL HIM!!! STRING HIM UP!!! I, Social Justice Warrior-ker, demand swift and SEVERE punishment.Guys like this will RUIN the game!!! Ain't that right, Hollywood Henderson?

meanwhile, in the real world, I just wanna smash every single stupid azzed media punk that cannot STFU about what amounts to a "who gives a ****" off the field incident in June. It's as if these media punk shytheads on EEI and the Sports Rub never heard of freakin' Lawrence Taylor, never mind 50% of the NY Jete roster the past decade. Little freakin' breathless girls trapped in men's bodies. So sick of these whiny jerkoffs and their "hot takes".

and for any of you that want to retort with some pontificating holier than thou edict from atop your freakin' soapboxes, YOU would drop dead from fright if you ever knew how prevalent and rife drugs and alcohol are in the NFL ...and have been for the past 50 years.

Chung getting cleared from this will be super easy, barely an inconvenience.

One of the strangest realizations of adulthood is that everyone uses this stuff

Give me a break. Definitely not everybody. This isn’t like alcohol during college for freshmen, sophomores, juniors.

While I completely agree with what you are saying here, and while agreeing with posters on here who see this potentially being nothing more than a four game suspension (at most), I think many of us think that “just because drugs are prevalent in the League”, it is still of concern that a key player is possibly wrapped up in problems with cocaine/the law.

I’m more of a prude than most of you. I’m not freaking out or yelling from the bell tower, but it is of concern. Hopefully with time, details will emerge.

He’s getting up there in age for a football player, and he puts his body through a lot of punishment. He’s still recovering from the broken arm that occurred in the SB, and that was almost 7 months ago.

I think he could be looking at one or two more years.

I think resting his body from this injury and the suspension next year will help to extend his career.

Hypothetical:
So if he has a little vial of the powdery substance (the kind finance guys have in their suit pockets at parties) sitting on his kitchen counter when the police showed up to answer the tripped alarm, it qualifies for “possession of an illegal substance- felony, possible 3 years in jail????”

That and they basicallly threatened the jury.

For young millionaires it is.
