I see someone who is jumping to conclusions. We don't know why he did what he did. There could've been a multitude of reasons that made him snap and then he took his life after he realized the consequences of his actions. Who knows?
What exactly would justify any of his actions? Please do tell.
From the Kansas City Star:
According to a friend of Kasandra Perkins, the woman killed today by Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher, the couple argued in the early morning hours after the woman was out late attending Friday’s Trey Songz concert at The Midland.
The friend, who asked not to be identified, said Belcher confronted Perkins when she returned home about 1 a.m
The NFL is a business. Name the last business you can think of that suspended operations because a coworker was killed. If you can, I'd be honestly surprised.
Update: About 60 workers, family members and friends of victims marched in a somber candlelight vigil Wednesday night across the street from Valley Protein, the central Fresno meat-processing plant where a gunman fatally shot two of his co-workers and wounded two others before killing himself on Tuesday morning.
The plant was closed Wednesday and will reopen Thursday.. Company president Bob Coyle announced the reopening plans after employees and managers met with grief counselors in an employee meeting Wednesday afternoon.

What's the right/wrong way to approach this is certainly debatable but, unless there's an unknown factor here, the league could have moved the game to Monday. That sort of thing has been done before.
What about the girlfriend who lost her life in this?
They went on and played after Sean Taylor was shot and killed. Whilst there were members of the team who witnessed his suicide, I'd have been surprised if the NFL had rearranged anything.
9/11 was a big exception and it was league wide so, logistically, they were able to incorporate it in to the season...it'd be tough to rearrange one fixture with no bye weeks remaining.
