The Chiefs lost the turnover battle. The penalties are an irritant, but I can't help remembering, when I'm about to complain, this is the way other fan bases used to react for almost the entire 20 yr run that we had.
It becomes apparent to me, though, that the SINGLE most critical deciding factor in who wins or loses these games are the turn overs, plain and simple. Some TO's are forced, like balls ripped from players, or picks made when DB's get great reads and jumps on the ball. And I believe that another percentage comes due to player errors like bad throws by QB's or poor technique by RB's carrying the ball. And finally, there a bunch come from just plain luck. The deflection that finds it's way into a defenders' arms, or the fumble that bounces into the defender's hands rather than to the offense.
But regardless of how they happen, the team that wins the TO battle by more than one will almost ALWAYS win the game. IIRC every team that won this weekend AND the last, won the TO battle
Remember the fumble that the Pats clearly recovered in the SB vs the Giants? It was a LB don’t remember the name. The Chiefs lost the turnover battle.
We won't be forgotten but the argument or statement will be the Chiefs are the better dynasty. That argument can be made because they're doing what the Patriots did in half the time. When they win in two weeks they'll have 5 Super Bowls as a franchise which puts them near the top one behind the Pats. I don't think Mahomes catches Brady for GOAT status though and I can't see how he can ever be the GOAT when Brady beat him TWICE head to head. Mahomes himself acknowledges that fact.IF they Threepeat we are going to be the Forgottens.
I’d love to see 2004 Corey Dillon against these undersized defensive fronts. You thought Cook was getting yardage last night.
Those early 2000s defenses would have punished the queefs. Kelce would have retired 3 years ago if he had to go against them
Pierre Woods.Remember the fumble that the Pats clearly recovered in the SB vs the Giants? It was a LB don’t remember the name.
The refs gave the ball to the Giants.
Good times.
Pure football pornI’d love to see 2004 Corey Dillon against these undersized defensive fronts. You thought Cook was getting yardage last night.
You could look at that two ways, the Chiefs had a great short run but the Pats did it much longer. They didn't get hated until Spygate in 2007, then things went downhill from there. Let's see if the Chiefs can be at the top or near the top for ten more years. Three peat means diddly compared to the run the Pats had for so long.We won't be forgotten but the argument or statement will be the Chiefs are the better dynasty. OOPSThe Chiefs lost the turnover battle.
The Patriots hate was media manufactured. In 2003 - 2004 we were beloved. On February 7, 2005, the day after Super Bowl 39, ESPN ran a story titled "is it time to hate the Patriots". That started it all.You could look at that two ways, the Chiefs had a great short run but the Pats did it much longer. No. Just no.Mahomes doesn't have a Manning to compete against? Josh Allen is pretty close,
Mahomes is hardly running into that "gauntlet" every postseason. Only twice has he had to play 2 of those teams in one postseason, one of which resulted in a loss.and the trio of Allen, Jackson and Burrow is a hell of a QB gauntlet to run into every postseason.
The only time Mahomes has gone up against a truly elite QB in a big game hes 1-3.No. Just no.
Josh Allen is not even remotely in the same stratosphere as Peyton Manning.

It’s still a mystery why Bill didn’t challenge. He would’ve won.Remember the fumble that the Pats clearly recovered in the SB vs the Giants? It was a LB don’t remember the name.

Although he was cooked compared to his younger years, Dillon had his best statistical season. He fell off a cliff in 2005. Any RB pre 2010 would be nightmares for current defenses.I’d love to see 2004 Corey Dillon against these undersized defensive fronts. You thought Cook was getting yardage last night.
After their 3rd Super Bowl win was when media and fans got tired of them. You could look at that two ways, the Chiefs had a great short run but the Pats did it much longer. That’s an insult to Manning and the Colts. Teams not only had to worry about him, but Edgerin James, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark on offense alone. Then you had Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis and Bob Sanders were a pain in the ass.Mahomes doesn't have a Manning to compete against? Josh Allen is pretty close, and the trio of Allen, Jackson and Burrow is a hell of a QB gauntlet to run into every postseason.
That 2006 Colts team didn't look anything resembling a Super Bowl winning team until he came back from injury. Like night and day.Robert Mathis and Bob Sanders were a pain in the ass.
In one of my 70000 posts I published research (had time on my hands that day I guess) which showed for each game Bob Sanders was active, the Colts defense allowed 20 fewer yards, 2 fewer first downs, and 3 points less a game. That 2006 Colts team didn't look anything resembling a Super Bowl winning team until he came back from injury. Like night and day.
