Chiefs now vs. us then, is it the same?

True! During the regular season, there are a lot of games being played that are un watchable...

Many of the Pats games.

Easier to win in a watered down league with your biggest in-conference rivals being proven losers (Bills and Ravens). Chiefs don’t have the Pats or Tom Brady to contend with anymore either. Let’s look at the guaranteed HOF QBs/Coaches they have beaten in the super bowls: Jimmy Trashcan and Purdy with choker Kyle Shanahan and Hurts with Little Nicky Sirianni.

I’m not saying what the Queefs are doing isn’t impressive it’s just not as impressive as what the Pats were doing since they are relying on assistance from the league and Taylor Swift

And I believe that another percentage comes due to player errors like bad throws by QB's or poor technique by RB's carrying the ball. And finally, there a bunch come from just plain luck. The deflection that finds it's way into a defenders' arms, or the fumble that bounces into the defender's hands rather than to the offense.

But regardless of how they happen, the team that wins the TO battle by more than one will almost ALWAYS win the game. IIRC every team that won this weekend AND the last, won the TO battle

The Chiefs have no near peer adversary. There is no other legendary QB, team or coach they have to go through. Only twice they faced that threat and lost both times. They haven't even played another former Super Bowl winning squad through their run except the Patriots and Bucs with Brady.

The gauntlet the Pats had to fight through was unbelievable. Picture this current Chiefs team having to play the Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs, Ed Reed, Haloti Ngata Ravens, Legion of Boom, Manning Broncos/Colts or Greatest Show on Turf. How about ANY of those Brady Patriots squads.

We won't be forgotten but the argument or statement will be the Chiefs are the better dynasty. That argument can be made because they're doing what the Patriots did in half the time. When they win in two weeks they'll have 5 Super Bowls as a franchise which puts them near the top one behind the Pats. I don't think Mahomes catches Brady for GOAT status though and I can't see how he can ever be the GOAT when Brady beat him TWICE head to head. Mahomes himself acknowledges that fact.

Why are we crapping on the Chiefs' accomplishments? Oh, right, insecurity. It's time to get over it.

The league is watered down? There have been 32 teams in the NFL since 2002.

Mahomes doesn't have a Manning to compete against? Josh Allen is pretty close, and the trio of Allen, Jackson and Burrow is a hell of a QB gauntlet to run into every postseason.

There are no great teams to compete against? This Eagles team is stacked with talent, as was the 2022 edition.

None of this is to say that Mahomes is Brady, or that this Chiefs dynasty has surpassed ours, but the discounting of the greatness in front of us makes us look foolish. Just two years ago people on this board were arguing that Payton Manning is a borderline top 10 QB at best. Now that we feel threatened by Mahomes, we acknowledge Manning as some insurmountable beast that only hunky Tom could best? This is New England - we're smarter than this.

Hate the Chiefs if you must, but don't act like we're not witnessing something historic.

We'll always have Brady's 2 - 0 playoff record against Mahomes.

Although he was cooked compared to his younger years, Dillon had his best statistical season. He fell off a cliff in 2005. Any RB pre 2010 would be nightmares for current defenses.

That’s an insult to Manning and the Colts. Teams not only had to worry about him, but Edgerin James, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark on offense alone. Then you had Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis and Bob Sanders were a pain in the ass.

Who do the Bills have aside from Josh Allen? A guy name that sounds like announcers are saying “Shakira” and James Cook? On defense, they don’t have anyone that scares you and continually collapses against any competent QB in the playoffs.

The Bills are only winning the division because Tom, Bill and the rest of the players are gone.

In one of my 70000 posts I published research (had time on my hands that day I guess) which showed for each game Bob Sanders was active, the Colts defense allowed 20 fewer yards, 2 fewer first downs, and 3 points less a game.

To me, it's crazy how impactful he was for that defense.
