Chances of going 16-0 this year

I’ve had my last two done without any anesthesia, including the last one where they implanted that Bravo capsule device that measures your acidic levels, and had to check/check/re-check the placement on top of my stomach via the camera.

Saved recovery time and money. Have them hit you with the numbing spray in the back of your throat, put the plastic biteguard in your mouth, and give it a try. It’s quite a rush. Of course, if you don’t like constant gagging and sweating with some heavy eye watering sprinkled in, you can opt for the easy way out, again.

We should turn this thread into stories of endoscope experiences, it would be less painful than talking about the chances of 16-0 this year.

I see a win against everyone in our schedule, 16-0 is looking very possible.

Agreed.

I have had years that I felt it was possible. Not this year. The NFL isn't as bad as it use to be a few years ago since a lot of good young QBs have enter recently and the Patriots don't have the cheat code of Brady to Moss to work around a relatively good NFL.

Here is my prediction (spoiler... 13-3)

Hou W - It won't be the classic the last game was. Gilmore contains Hopkins (doesn't stop him) and that holds their O down enough, Brady know their D. 30-20

at Jags L - This should be a game they win, but don't. The 'extended preseason' hurts them here against a team desperate to win. 20-27.

at Det W - Not much to say. They are an average team. Bad D good O. They have an offense that runs through 2 WRs. 34-24

Mia - W - These Miami games are hard to predict. I'll go with a blow out. 40-17

Indy - W - Another blow out but they have weapons to test the pats DBs. 40-20

KC - W - This is a game the Pats won't lose and they won't get surprised again. Still it will be a hard fought one. 30-27

at Bears - W - LOL - 40-13

at Buf - W - Yeah... 30-17

GB - L - The Pats D philosophy of 'get the f back' has never worked on Rodgers. You need to take it from him. B sticks with what works for 90% of the league and loses for it. 27-30

at Ten - W - 35-10 - Nice bounce back win going into the bye.

bye

at NYJ - W - A hard fought game... for some reason? IDK. 24-20

Minn - W - I think this one will be a classic. Their D is very good but can be beat. They have weapons on offense but they are predictable in what they do and who they go for. The Pats win it in the 4th. 27-24

at Mia - L - LOL - Yeah... IDK why Brady has trouble here. It makes no sense to me.

at Pit - W - Anyone scared of Pit at this point is insane. Yes they are a good team. Yes, they have talented players. But when Brady has a D's number he has a D's number. 31-24

Buf - W - yep.

NYJ - W - yep.

13-3 with the tie breaker over Pitt and the Jags dropping a games due to their **** offense gives the Pats the first seed. Have we seen this show before?

Odds of that - LOL:LMAO

just stop......

Last 2 seasons we've only lost 5 games, 2 in 2016, 3 in 2017, can't say it's out the realm of possibility to finally nail it off, barring major injuries coupled by a weak schedule, we have a shot.

7 games against 2017 playoff teams, add in Houston & GB getting their QB's back, that schedule doesn't look all that weak.

Obligatory lost in Miami,

Miami gets the Pats at the beginning of December rather than the end, chances are good the Pats don't mail that one in this season

Sure, you can point out that I do that every year, but I wasn't wrong those times, just premature.

That's usually a problem experienced by much younger guys.

You could very easily see us start off 10-0, only tuff games in the first half are Jaguars/Packers, we get past the Jags/Packers 10-0 start imo, second half of the season Vikings/Steelers.

If our key players (Hightower) are healthy don't see how we don't pull against Vikes/Steelers. This could be our last legit shot at a perfect season and barring health it's a real possibility.

2007 Pats were the greatest team in NFL history. No other team is going to go 16-0.

I see at least 12-4, but maybe even 13-3, and one seed. (As usual, they already have at least the 2 seed locked, they basically have a bye to the AFCCG, and considering the AFC is a hot pile they basically have a BYE to SB 53)

None. Zip. This forum really needs to stop that. It borders on underestimating what the ‘07 team was able to accomplish that season, which is only something that no other team has ever done.
Another thing these 16-0 predictions does is water down the ridiculous accomplishment of going 13-3 and 14-2 so many times.. 14-2 is a ridiculous record and they have done at least that 5 times. 13-3 twice.. 12-4 a million times.

Folks say well it is just 2 more wins than 2016.. Well that waters down what a great achievement 14-2 is for the 2016 team.

No NFL team (including ours) will ever go 16-0 again.

Plus it wasn’t just 16-0 that was special... it was something like 7-0 against teams that made the playoffs. That was not an easy schedule that year at all.

even so long ago.. it is absolutely ridiculous and absurd that we went 18-0 and lost the last one. I mean, losing that last game should simply have not been an option for that team, just not on the table to not get a huge lead and eff the opponent up early and put the thing to bed.. No matter how that game went, it was a major eff up by the Pats.. Losing it should simply not have been an option.

I personally wouldn't bet on 4-0 for the first quarter of the season, especially given the team's seemingly recent habit of using September as a practice/tuning month.

Kind of on topic, that 2007 team was really transcendent. There were only THREE games in the regular season with a single score margin. Every Pats team since then has had to rely on a lot more heroics, band aids, luck, etc., to win a good portion of their games.

The 2017 team really ritualistically and systematically beat the snot out of most everybody.
