YES. And I think he may had an issue gelling with the playbook. Some said he may have been hurt. I am not making excuses but ("everything before the word 'but' is horse sh!t") I honestly do think their will be an improvement in 2022. The guy can ball...give it more time then one freaking year.I think he had a few early season drops that set the tone for the rest of his season.
By next year, they're being paid middle-of-the-road money.Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith are bargains now with 3 teams franchising their TE's for 10M/yr...(Njoku, Schultz, & Gesicki)
Can he though? I’m trying to think of an example of a non-rookie skill player who was such a bust for a full season and then turned it on at a later point. Nobody comes to mind, but I’m open to hearing examples. The guy can ball
I mean how many 2 TE sets did the team use last year? less than 20 percent I think (not certain)Can he though? Seems like it’s more likely an Aaron Dobson or N’Keal Harry, these guys we keep hoping for that never get it.
Sad to say I’m not expecting much from the guy.

I honestly think we give him one more year to gel and see where it goes.
Granted the 2021 figures don't make sense but Mac was a rookie and lots of moving parts. Similarly with Agholor but I think there maybe a trade there to get him out of town.
Agree with all of this. I hope he breaks records next year and they should give him every chance to succeed. It just feels unlikelyJonnu Smith and Nkeal Harry both are in very similar situations when it comes to on field production.
When they have the ball in their hands it's "wow!" and pre game warm ups they look like comic book super heros (Jacked up) ...but the huge issue is getting the ball in their hands.
After 1 year, with a rookie QB and revamped offense, I'm willing to give him another shot.
Unlike Harry who has played with the Goat, Cam, and now Mac ..yet still cannot string together performances worth noting.
If this coming season Jonnu doesn't improve than we can cut losses with less of an impact. We should all be rooting for him to succeed though.
In this situation with Jonnu Smith this is how a New OC build clout and a name around the league. Can our next play caller turn him around?? It seems like McDaniels went away from him and Mac's favorite target inside the numbers was HH. Jonnu Smith was a dangerous move TE in Tennessee: in year two Mac will have to get a feel for him.Jonnu Smith and Nkeal Harry both are in very similar situations when it comes to on field production.
