Celtics 2023 - 2024 Discussion

McConnell looks like the type of guy who uses his hip to close the refrigerator door

We got a barn burner! ( as Johnny Most used to say). Damn I miss Johnny Most.
Tommy Heinson too.

Man that was not an easy one but again the clutch plays were made. I’ve gotta give a ton of credit to Indiana they made the Celtics work for it every game, three of them down to the very wire.

You know, about five minutes left I was thinking, the Celtics are gonna win this. The other team is feeling good, but they will make the mistakes and our guys will do what needs to be done. Kind of reminds me of a certain football team

Got to feel for these Indy fans. Not only did their team get swept in the conference finals, but to make matters worse, they live in Indy.

On the brightside, there's always the meth

I couldn't help but laugh at the sequence that closed out the series: Jaylen block, White dagger three, unnecessarily bad Tatum shot, Jrue offensive rebound. If that isn't the Boston Celtics, I don't know what is.

As frustrating as that game was, beating Indiana and the other three on the court was a fair accomplishment. Now, let's get KP healthy and go get that banner.

C's held Pacers to 0 points final 3:30.
Made all the big plays last 2 minutes.
Final minute: Browns huge block, DWhite's huge corner 3, Jrue's huge rebound. Game ovah.

We posted same thing same time

What can you say? Thank God this series is over. I did not want to see Indy gain any momentum. I've never seen a team play so well and still get swept. To have every one of the 3 close games go Boston's way says alot about their poise, but I think we can also agree Indy was pretty unlucky throughout this series.

What happened to Pritchard? I know he got kicked in the face. Perhaps we'll see him with the mask in a week. The Celtics can't afford to have their bench get any shorter. I don't understand how Brissett gets zero minutes tonight. I think he's been pretty good with the time he's been given.

Every starter played over 40 minutes tonight except for Holiday (38). It was starting to show. If Indy pulled this game out I think they could have become a real headache for the C's especially if Haliburton returned.

Some bad calls going both ways. The obvious up and down violation on Indy (can't remember who it was). The foul by Brown on McConnell was definitely a flagrant, as was the kick to Pritchard's face, and Turner's shove on Brown. Either team losing this game would certainly have plenty to ***** about.

White was awesome tonight even when the 3s weren't dropping. He and Brown were the difference tonight. Jrue once again stepped up. He's been such a huge upgrade over Smart.

Thank you to the Celtics for honoring #5 in the best way they could. A week of rest is BADLY needed. Go T-wolves!

PS Ironically I think the only person in the building who had firsthand playing experience with Walton was Rick Carlisle. There's a trivia winner for you.

People who didn't watch the games will think Boston had a cakewalk. We know better. Indy was a force throughout this series and will be a team to watch moving forward.

They played a lot better than they had a right to, however, their pace of play could also be considered their Achilles heel. Their late game execution self-destructed in four straight games because Boston tightened their D, and Indy couldn't play slow.

I'm pleased Boston got the job done. Previous incarnations of this team would have found a way to turn this into a 6 game series. Hopefully, their newfound maturity is what gets them over the hump.

Maybe. I think when things got tight they just didn't have a true leader to settle them down. Had they won this game I would have been very concerned about Boston's starters continuing to play tons of minutes while Indy continued to send in fresh horses off the bench (especially if Haliburton returned).

At the end of the day if my aunt was a man she'd be my uncle. We'll never know, but I believe sweeping this series was critical to the Celtics if they want to win it all.

At the end of the day if my aunt was a man she'd be my uncle.
But what if your aunt was a man--who then underwent a sex change operation.
Then she'd be your uncle all over again. I mean, he would. To further complicate things, what if after the sex change operation changing her from aunt to uncle( how does that even work?), he/she
discovers she's a man but a gay man. Wouldn't it have made more sense if she just remained your aunt? Would've saved her/him some serious $ anyway.

Great play both Jaylen and DWhite at the end. Simple drive and kick but the Jaylen of years past might've tried to tunnel vision to the rim. Instead he made the right play with the shot clock dwindling, the right pass. And DWhite just keeps making the clutch buckets.

I agree with Mike Breen, I’ve never seen a more competitive sweep in my life.
So? Who cares? It is still a sweep. M Breen has to say that stuff for Indiana fans. On to Dallas.
