Celtics 2023 - 2024 Discussion

Might argue that was the best game of Tatum’s career. Not most dominant, but best. Wise decision making.

Of all the ways I envisioned this game might play out, Nembhard dropping 32 and then the Celts clawing back to win with their D sure as hell wasn't one of them. A true team win. I admit I had my doubts about this team's maturity level, not anymore

Yep. Held Indiana to 42 points in the second half. No matter what anybody says, these are the last two teams left standing in the east, and each are missing a key starter. And the Celtics are up at 3-0. Let's ****ing go

This team has taken to showing their experience this series. It's the biggest difference. They are also flexing the ability to be annoyingly persistent, up or down (which is lovely when it's your team.)

Great win! But that's twice now that Carlisle has not called a timeout leading to a critical steal at the end of the game.

He needs his energy for complaining.

Now can give Porzingis more rest. Hopefully that other series goes 6-7. Yes, there’s thst dreaded downtime but the rest for KP makes it worth it. That downtime rust is probably a myth anyway. These guys practice every day.

I still can't believe we won that game tbh. I rewatched the ending about 15 times now and I'm still not convinced. Masterclass game by Tatum that will go overlooked by most non Celtics fans I'm sure.

Also Big AL? How is he this good at his age? Makes no sense. He has every right to be a scrub but he just keeps chugging along.

Great finish but the Pacers' offensive adjustment to attack the paint needs to be addressed. GS destroyed us with a bunch of easy bunnies in the finals too.

First half of the game I thought I was watching Hoosiers

That game was insane. I kept trying to go to bed (working today) but the Celtics simply would not allow it. I was waiting for the lead to hit 20, which would have been my cue.

Everything that worried me about Indy came to fruition last night. They finally realized they could be dominant in the paint against a smaller team that really doesn't have an answer for that size right now. I expect them to stick with this game plan moving forward.

The comeback to me was as much as Indy just inexplicably collapsing as it was the Celtics playing great defense in the 4th (which they did). Add in Horford being unconscious behind the arc and Tatum playing his best game of the playoffs and the Celtics win the second game of this series that they simply had no right to win.

I actually like the Pacers and enjoy watching them play. I was a bit disappointed (in a disjointed way; as a Celtics fan I'm elated) Carlisle didn't find a way to settle them as the lead fell apart.

I give Indy a lot of credit for playing the way they did without Haliburton. This series is going to haunt them if they don't find a way to win it (and they have played well enough to do so).

Hopefully the Jrue illness is a minor detail and doesn't impact anyone else on this team. The bench is too short right now as it is.

Another test to see if this years Celtics are really different. Last years Celtics almost certainly drop this game. Let's see if it's really, #DifferentHere
I think the C's have already proven that they're #DifferentHere. They're a special team and are one step away from the NBA finals without their starting center and one of his backups.

I don't really care who they play if they get to the finals. They have the best combination of defense and offense of any team left.

They're reminding me of the good old days of C's basketball, when you never thought they were out of it until it was over.
