These next two games will tell us a lot about this team IMO.

If this goes 7 games they aren't making it to the finals.. if they do will be swept by Minnesota or Denver.

The playoffs is all about defending.. nice to hit 20 3s and game but need to defend.. look at the t wolves and nuggets out west they defend.

Pushing aside the obvious handicap at head coach, this team's issue is, and always will be, between their ears.

Joe was on the staff, has a wealth of knowledge of the game from his time as a player in college ,and I believe his father was a coach I believe. Your right Ime came up as a NBA player and under pop in SA for many years. Wins and losses are what your judged by in overall view as a coach. But if Joe doesn't get it done this season I can see ownership pulling a mark Jackson on him.

Yeah it was dumb, but could have been handled differently. Wasn't like it was a Harvey weinstein or Bill Cosby type ****.

Was consensual.. but anyway... on the player's.. do you see the kid from Minnesota Edwards?.. he has what tatum doesn't a killer instinct. Tatum is a fantastic player and a even better man off the court. But he's not a dog! All the greats had that Trait in them.. bird, Jordan, magic, to name a few. That is what is missing from his personality as a player.

I really like Edwards.He's on his way to being a top 5 player.
After Jokic and Embiid, who are both head and shoulders better than everyone else( Jokic clearly #1), Tatum is as good as anyone else...
until crunchtime. Compared to the best players in the nba he sucks in crunchtime.
That is where the all-time greats, MJ,Magic,Bird,Russell etc really shined.
Tatum will never be close those guys until he starts producing consistently in the clutch.
A good start is for only allowing DWhite,Jrue or Pritchard to be bringing the ball up inside of 5 minutes left.
Tatum and Brown are not good ballhandlers. Tatum is for his size but he's a far cry from the 3 pgs.
They will get the ball across half court faster,leaving more time on the clock and will get the team into the right play-that could be Tatum- but all 3 of those guys will get Tatum the ball in a better position than he could himself- same with Brown. It drives me absolutely nuts when I see Tatum or Brown trying to dribble the rock up inside of 5 minutes in a close game.
Mazzula needs to stop that. And the J's don't like it, sit their asses down.
It also gives them both more rest- Tatum has looked gassed a lot of times in the 4th qtr.
Get players and the ball moving and Tatum is likely to get the ball in a one on one situation not 25 feet out- that gives him an advantage over pretty much everyone- he can drive, hit a higher pct non3 jump shot, back down and overpower a smaller defender,etc.
Point us,he'll have more options than heaving up a prayer 5' behind the 3pt line

Celts played great defense and the Heat were absolutely hopeless because of it. Celts weren’t even shooting that great themselves.

Your spot on! Your assessment is 100 % accurate. Tatum needs to look at film on Miller or rip Hamilton moving without the ball, getting open without the ball is what will help his game. Brown your right another fantastic player has has gotten better each season and is a excellent scorer. The thing is we may get out the east just really due to injuries butler, Gianni, now dame is out..

But the west there are 2 teams who worry me out west Denver and Minnesota.

Can someone tell me what a foul was in this game? Totally random calls on both sides last night. In particular, the Celtics did not get the call on almost all of their drives to the hoop. Miami was getting away with pushing Celtics players almost all night. I don't think this team can make through to the end if this is how the NBA is going to call it. Tatum got flattened by Adebayo with 6:29 to go in the third while taking a 3 with no call. It was an obvious call too.

I'm having a flashback to the Seahawks and their Legion of Doom defense. Miami fouls on almost every play and hopes the refs get sick of blowing their whistles.

Very pleased with the game last night. Cs imposed their will on them. Can always nitpick but the owned the Heats asses all night.

Agreed. Celtics, t wolves and nuggets are the 3 best teams in the NBA. You'd think a team that won 64 games would not give us these reasons to worry but they do.

What will make the Celtics more formidable is if Holliday starts being more aggressive I know he's comfortable and like to defer to the the Js and porzingas but he's a dam good scorer in his own right. I'd like to see him attack more he's a 6'5 big, tough, strong PG if he attacks more I'm convinced no one can stop the Celtics.

He us a excellent player.. we have no one that can slow him.. in the off season we need a perimeter stopper. I want McDaniels in Minnesota.
