Celtics 2023 - 2024 Discussion

That was an incredible game to watch. Timberwolves were suffocating on defense even without Gobert and Conley.

Celtics have to go to Milwaukee tomorrow, ************.
Tell us some more about how Hauser should have been the starter Super Genius.

Guessing there will be a few missing starters…

In hindsight that total demolition of Utah is a lot more impressive now.

Brown is having the best season of his career. It was obvious that some of the “Brown is fifth best player on the team” takes would age terribly. A lot of fans took that stance early in the season.

Didn’t realize they’d been playing so well. 154-148 against Detroit though. What a master class of defense that game must’ve been.

I really loved the end result but I have to repeat myself... Tatum should have made that last shot in regulation. The great players hit that shot. That game should not have gone to OT and if McDaniels didn't foul out, they might not have pulled away for the win.

If McDaniels did not play overaggressively all game then the Celtics would have had more points earlier. McDaniels over aggression led to less points at the beginning of the game and more points at the end for the Celtics. That is why the game keeps track of fouls.

It was a good look for Tatum and rimmed in and out. I was okay with it, I just don’t like the last second shots that are wacky super contested threes. I can live with the shot he took.

There was no double team so it wasn’t a terrible shot, but I still don’t understand why they don’t have Holiday or White bringing the ball up in those situations. If they must have Tatum taking the last shot, screen him open or give it to him, but at least let a PG assess it first. 8 seconds is a lot of time.

I liked the shot a lot. It wasn't an iso 3 like usual. But he still missed. I keep hoping that he lives up to those MVP chants but then he misses shots like that. MVPs ht those.

Agreed that shot was OK. And they're not all going to go in. I don't know if historically that's something that is tracked but as far back as Bird, he missed a bunch of end of the game shots. Made a lot too of course. **** happens

But generally speaking, I just hate the way the end of the game always feels under Joe. Should you sometimes let the game just flow and not call time out? Sure. But that's pretty much what happens every time, Tatum and Brown will just dribble the seconds off until they take a shot. It's that being the default setting that bugs me

Lillard is such a bum. Jacks up a ton of dumb shots and doesn’t play defense. There's a reason the Blazers were always bottom feeders and the Bucks have been an overall worse team.

Celtics getting spanked right now.

This is ugly. Jesus.

Not the kind of loss that stays with you, so whatever

Stupid scheduling on the league's part though
It’s really annoying and not just a Celtics thing. I brought it up last week with the Thunder traveling to Atlanta after playing the Celtics. If the league can’t avoid back to backs you’d think they could at least make them home games. The schedule also has a bunch of consecutive games against the same opponent. I’d rather see 65-70 quality games than this type of stuff.

The NBA never did back-to-back home/road games in the playoffs because they knew the games would suffer but now they do it in the regular season like it's no big deal. Stupid.

Thank you Blazers.
