This game was just a nightmare for Hauser and Tatum. We run away with a double digit win if those guys don’t play like ass.

I understand Tatum did something to his ankle that may have caused him to be tentative with aggressive drives but he was better off facilitating than taking wretched contested shots.

Sam Hauser needs to make those open threes. 0/7 is straight up unacceptable for a guy whose entire game is predicated on making threes. He had about three shots in a row that would have put a nail in the Warriors coffin and not only missed but completely bricked them, wasn’t even close.

I give him a one-off for this game but you might as well bench him for Brissett if he isn’t shooting 40% or at worst, slightly under it. Mazzula should’ve made a change when we saw it wasn’t Hauser’s night.

Al also missed a ton of key shots.

Wasted another great night from DWhite and Brown.

Eh. I think it’s a stretch to try to pin this on Brown late. Jaylen missed a bunny or two but so did everyone else. I think Al and JT both missed layups while Horford, Hauser and even DWhite at the very end couldn’t quite hit the open looks. Overall good night for Brown and White.

You are correct about Tatum though that was horrible, can’t get over that last second shot. It was a tie, we weren’t down 3.

Did the Cs have any timeouts? Second time this year they’ve had the last possession with tie game and thrown up that garbage contested 3.

Would never have had a lead in the game if it wasn’t for how he played most of the night to make up for JT’s crap show. If you wanna point fingers beyond Tatum you should probably look squarely at Hauser who you tend to pump up a lot. Had multiple chances to seal the game and missed badly. He single handedly crushed our momentum with those bricks.

Like I said, everyone else missed open shots and layups at the end. Horford, Tatum, Hauser, even DWhite lost his hot hand at the end.

It’s happened two times, so not much. And I’d hardly qualify this as a big game. I guess slightly more meaningful than your average game but still.

I do think it obviously affected him so I’m not ripping on him for anything last night beyond the selfish shot selection which was a killer. Should’ve tried to find DWhite or Brown on that final possession.

If it had to be Tatum they could’ve ran that play from last season where he started in the back court, inbound to the point guard and hand it off to a running Tatum for either a drive to the rim of better look at 3, which worked twice. Generally Mazzula just sucks at running out of time out plays.

Hauser was bad - not just on shooting last night, but the team can withstand 0/7 better than 6/23. Many guys really sucked down the stretch and it was like a slow agonizing replay of the finals as we all had that bad gut feeling I’m sure.

Derrick White was incredible on Steph and Paul though…Warriors has to pick and roll every time to get him off them. Pair that with his offense lately and he’s a wrecking ball out there.

No argument there. Pretty much everyone struggled to get us the big score at the end. Tatum, Hauser, Brown, Horford, White (despite a great performance overall). Go down the line.

I put most of last night on Mazzula and Tatum. No adjustment to hurry up the pace, draw up a play for the final shot of regulation, being good with a record number of three point misses. Last night reminded me clearly of Mazzula’s short comings and stubbornness.

Wasted another great night from DWhite and Brown. Jaylen Brown is 100% right. They are great when they play with pace, when you dribble up the court slowly and let them settle into their defense…that’s when we are at our worst. And that is what we did and Mazzula did nothing about it.

Horford was 4 for 14, and he had wide open looks with no-one running at him.

Yes, not having Porzingis and Tatum's ankle injury both hurt but no excuse for how pretty much the entire team played down the stretch. And I've been easy on Mazzula, but jeez,Joe you know the definition of insanity right?
Why the F did they Jack up 6 straight 3's in crunch time when they were having their way at the rin all night?

I’m pissed Mazulla didn’t challenge that call on Pritchard out of bounds. That cost them 3 points. When you use a challenge, it’s often over a possession or a foul. How is a 3 point net swing not worth challenging? The entire bench was screaming he was in bounds. Would the shot still count though? Since the attempt itself was whistled off? I don’t know the answer.

Regardless inexcusable **** call by the officials on that one and TNT was so obnoxiously pro-Warriors that the woman on there was like “maybe it was his left foot!” as some lame hopeful rationalization despite us seeing the angles.

I have NBA League Pass and always choose the opponent broadcast. Those other teams broadcasters are way more neutral - and knowledgeable about the opponent - than those morons on TNT.

Yep, Warriors were clogging lanes but there's plenty of stuff you can run besides just jacking up 3's. It's like they all forgot how to play basketball the last 7 minutes.
Meanwhile, everybody was just standing around watching each other miss 3's.
Why no movement? No cutting,etc.

Team has played with excellent pace and aggressiveness. For one night at least it felt like addition by subtraction without Tatum slow walking the ball and iso’ing.

Celts are at their best when they are running and have their opponents on a swivel.

Ehh I think there’s some recency bias going on. He is excellent but I’m not taking him ahead of Porzingis and Brown if you tell me those guys are going to be healthy.

Is he better than Jrue or our past point guards? Absolutely. DWhite is playing like an All-Star rn.

But if I’m starting a team and there’s the choice of Porzingis, Brown or White? He’s the last of the three I’m taking.

He is a damn good player who especially flourishes when heavy attention is on JT/JB/KP. His best season for sure though.

He’s probably more expensive to extend now than he was before the season. I hope like hell we can get it done.
