Celtics 2023 - 2024 Discussion

Yes dismissed it. Agreed. But responded which means he is upset. People getting challenged and upset leads to change (usually). If Brown had not responded we would have no idea if it upset him or not. Brown is listening and getting upset. That is a good thing. Conflict usually leads to change sooner or later.

Dear One-If-By-Sea,

I saw your post and want to make sure you’re aware I have no intention of improving. Looking forward to tanking your favorite team’s dream season.

Sincerely,

Hi Jaylen, can I have your signature on a game ball? I would like to give the ball as a present to my friend Ice-Ice. Warmest regards, OIBS

Why do you say that?

He doesn't make in game decisions well at all. That's the main reason he has so many asst. Coaches now.

He shouldn't be a pro coach..he should of "cut his teeth" at the college level first.

He started off not calling timeouts last year when the moments were obvious.

Focus on shooting 3s more than Playing defense..to the point his own player in the huddle had to stress defense. (Jaylen Brown)

U don't let ur own player tell u when he is going into the game..like Smart did last year. Horford at times took the coaches seat in the playoffs..all going back to the front office loading him up w asst coaches this year

And even at times this season..when the offense or the players stall..he never calls a timeout to at least draw up a quick play to get them going again..

When the media challenges him on the team taken way too many 3s..his replies are nonsensical.

Pickens looks bad.

His style is not to overcoach. He's better than last year. You are too critical of him

I have zero issue with Mazzula, other than, well, you know. But I think pragmatically in his position right now he can’t do what he needs to do.

Let's give him a few more months. Stevens was supposed to be a great coach, but I am not sure that was true. I think Stevens is a good GM, a better GM than coach. Udoka had a good year but I am not sure he implemented changes that would last.

Maybe Mazzula can do it. I think he needs a bit more time. I am not coddling him because "last year he was thrown into the fire". That is BS, but there is a learning curve in any position and it looks like he his thoughtful and strategic. Is he insightful and direct as well? We will see.

That "Mic'd Up" before the game...Did Jrue call Pritchard "Peezy"? that's a good nickname if he did

Very good 1st half. PorZINGis 7/7. Glad he's back. All 5 starters playing well plus Big Al Pritch and Hauser.
Pissed off Tatum reminds me a little of pissed off Tom Brady. Keeps his head but gets hyper-focused on just playing good all-around bball.

How’s the kool aid? Literally zero in this article to support him other than his his subjective “I’m playing better, it just doesn’t show up anywhere” bs claim. Everything is bad. Terrible true shooting pct, terrible box plus minus. Turnover rate is only slightly down. Selfish, inefficient, and defensive about justified criticism. Get this loser out of here asap.

I love kool-aid. How did you know?

Reading the article, Brown did hear the valid criticism and is working to address the issues. He is a bit defensive, but that is OK for a young man. If he was an old guy, like a number of posters on this site, it would be doubtful he would change, but being young, the defensiveness is common. Most grow out of it. We will see how he progresses because a $300M+ contract is not going anywhere soon.

Better to drink kool-aid then have high blood pressure.

Very impressed with the C's tonight especially the 4th quarter. This was an intense game, the kind I like.
In the 4th, Boston ramped up the defense and hustled their asses off.
Made big clutch shots from multiple guys.
That's championship basketball.

Strong contributions across the board after a really bad start.

I think the Celtics need to do a better job freeing up Hauser for 3 pointers with all the matchup problems they’re capable of creating.

It’s 2023 and the 3 point shot is king. You have a guy playing ample minutes and shooting 45% on 3s. There’s no reason he should only shoot 4 in a game (made 3). His season average is about 6 attempts and should be 8-10.

Hauser basically stands in the corner. That can be effective in keeping the defender on the perimeter, but they need to also mix it up and have him running baseline through screens to create more problems for defenders switching. Teams have built entire offenses around this. Warriors and Heat come to mind. Not saying they should overhaul their offense for Sam Hauser, but I’d like to see at least a handful of plays designed to move him around the 3 point line.

I assume like the Celtics did with Ray Allen? I had not thought of that but I should have. Great point.
