Celtics 2023 - 2024 Discussion

Mazulla FINALLY played the lineup I keep telling him to play and look at the results!

Holiday
White
Tatum
Hauser
Horford (Porzingis)

See how dominant that lineup is? They just closed out the first half on a huge run. Hauser creates spacing that Brown can’t. The Pacers would not leave him on the perimeter and the others feasted with no helpside D.

I love that Hauser's defense has improved enough that he's not a liability to leave out there for longer minutes. His stroke from the 3 is sweet. Wish he would teach Tatum his shooting motion. Love JT, but that mechanical, clunky setup on his outside shot is just janky.
Hauser has,really become a solid 2way player.

Another eye-opening moment in the first half. That half-spin, launch to the basket, layup that White made. I had no idea he was that quick. Dude is a Swiss-army knife of a player.

Let's keep up the intensity on D in the 3rd. No 25-2 runs like last year

Going back to the start of last game, Jaylen Brown has 35 field goal attempts and 0 assists.

Update: 43 field goal attempts, 0 assists over two full games

Brown fails to deliver in a big game. He had 30 points but in the 3rd he missed 5 in a row, just an example. Very disappointed that they lost this game.

There’s the story of game, and basically every loss this season. 15 point swing.

I don't mind losing in the quarter finals of the IST. We get a week off, don't have to travel to Vegas, and don't play a 84rd NBA game.

But I would have loved to face the Bucks in Vegas instead of Milwaukee....

A week of rest is good for Porzi.

Tbh I am bummed. Wanted Cs to win the IST even though it doesn’t compare in any way to championship. At least the Pacers emerged as a fun, likable team to root for in the tourney.

My god what a loser this guy has become. I watched the game and saw another unfathomably selfish peformance. The guy has zero self awareness.

While I get it, we want our teams to win everything possible, "winning" in the regular season historically is for losers

Most wins in the regular season:

NFL: 2007 Patriots
NBA: 2015 Warriors
NHL: 2022 Bruins
MLB: 1906 Cubs & 2001 Mariners

What do all these teams have in common?

Seems like winning anything in the regular season is a recipe for losing when it matters

I see the IST become a gauge for predicting who won't win the title

I am happy Brown saw it and responded. That means he took it personally. That is how change happens.

Dude really? I must have missed all that when he arrogantly dismissed it and doubled down on his play.

Yes dismissed it. Agreed. But responded which means he is upset. People getting challenged and upset leads to change (usually). If Brown had not responded we would have no idea if it upset him or not. Brown is listening and getting upset. That is a good thing. Conflict usually leads to change sooner or later.
